BACHER Honing Compound -Ultra Fine

Product just arrived and wanted to try this straight away. I have a paddle strop that has interchangeable beds and I thought a slightly rougher napped leather would be best for pasting. Applying was simple enough just rubbed my thumb into it and applied in small sections. It looks like I’ve barely used any so this tin should last a long time. The razor I used it on was decent anyway but I believe this compound has brought out its full potential. I did 15 passes on the pasted strop then another 30 on another latigo leather strop and the shave was at least twice as smooth. I’ve included a photo of the razor as you can now clearly see the polished edge. Can’t wait to see what it does to the other razors I use and may try it on some knives eventually. Only been one use and can thoroughly recommend

I'd already bought a strop from this manufacturer and was very happy with it. The strop came with 5 x7gr jars of various grit stropping compounds. The ultra fine is the one I use the most so bought this larger jar. Brilliant product. Keeps my kitchen knives razor sharp and slicing onions and tomatoes has never been easier.

That’s all there is to say. It’s a very good ultra fine honing paste, & this tin will probably last many years.

This is very much an opinion , but the Barcher very fine and black ultra fine compound isn't needed . The red medium is best and white fine at a push is all you need .There is no industry standard for grading pastes to grit so these colours are in a unique order to Barcher.Barchers leather strop comes with sample pots of all four pastes for you to make up your own mind .

Does a great job of polishing the edge at the final honing.

Ich habe schon fast alle Schärfmittel irgendwann einmal getestet, um vor allem längere Messer oder Schwerter zu schärfen, und den letzten Kick gibt dann das Abziehen über ein Leder mit Abziehpaste. Die von Bacher lässt sich gut auftragen und liefert sehr gute Ergebnisse, wenn man denn einmal gelernt hat worauf man achten muss. Die Menge hält auch eine ganze Weile, wobei ich für jede Paste ein eigenes Leder auf einem Holzbrett montiert habe. Kann ich sehr empfehlen.
