Dinosaur vs. Bedtime (A Dinosaur vs. Book, 1)

One of my favorite stories of all time. I heard the author (I believe) read it and it was SO entertaining that YEARS later, I bought it for my grandson and read it to him in the same way. It's so fun!

My son received this as a gift when he was little. First tip, I use my monster truck rally announcer voice. Also, it’s great to have the kids read the dinosaur parts (roar, chomp, brush, etc). Both he and his older sister enjoyed this book a lot, despite she was “too old” for it. My niece recently had a baby, so I asked my now 16 year old which books we should get his new little cousin and he was quick to suggest this one. I always appreciated the interesting collage art work in this book. Apparently, my son did too because he brought up his favorite pages when discussing it.

As a special education preschool teacher, I am always looking for books which engage children who have varying skill levels--from non-verbal to "won't stop talking"--and this book is great. Many children can roar and love to roar along with the dinosaur and the children who can't will often at least smile and laugh. The children can identify the items in the book and then can answer questions about what the dinosaur will do with the item either through language or actions (eating, jumping, etc.). You can ask for predictions--"Dinosaur vs. bedtime: who will win?" Then you can "write" about the book. With crayons, the children can often draw a circle for the dinosaur's face and a jagged line for his teeth and the adult can help write a caption for the picture.

What a great story. I purchased this for my Goddaughter's brother's first birthday- it is dinosaur themed. I love he, and I am sure that he and his parents will too. This is the short story of all the challenges that dinosaur can take on- he takes on the leaves, slides, a bowl of spaghetti, talking grown ups, bath time and tooth brushes, and then he takes on bed time. Dinosaur masters every challenge with some mighty roar's - and he wins every time. That is until he goes up against bedtime. He gives off some roars, and they become weaker, and then bedtime wins. Hopefully, this delightful story will help your little beast get tuckered out too. Hopefully he or she will just drift off to sleep after hearing his exciting story- full of pretty colors, fun sounds, and encouraging words. It is a well constructed board book, short, and it feels like it will stand up well to the challenge of being around toddlers. I obviously recommend this book for all the young paleontologist and dinosaur lovers in your life. Is as described. A book we have known. Great book for dinosaur lovers, what kid is not intrigued by dinosaurs? This was a gift.

These books are awesome. My son just turned three and these books captivate him throughout the story. They are different to read and quite repetitive, but that is what my son loves about this book. If your child loves dinosaurs, he or she will love this book!

One of my favourite books for young children

Disappointing...can't see my grandson relating to this at all. It doesn't tell much of a story and doesn't really do much to promote bedtime for kids.
