Works in a grey water irrigation system too
I bought this to power my grey water irrigation system. It came with a rigid pre-filter, which has been a nice extra. It sits in the bottom of a large 40 gallon Rubbermaid trash can and I attached 1/2 inch black drip irrigation tubing to it, cut a hole high up in the side of the trash can and ran the tubing through that (put an elbow on the tubing so it would not crimp) and then ran the tubing across my yard to the far side and have attached an old-fashioned plastic yellow circular ring sprinkler on it that I can move around the yard. I empty water from my washing machine into the trash can and when it gets full, I plug in the pump and run it to water my yard.At first, I tried it with the kind of sprinkler that throws out a jet of water and pivots around the yard, so I could leave it in one place and water everything. It was supposed to work with low-pressure systems. However, this pump did not produce enough water pressure to work that sprinkler head.I switched to the ring sprinkler and the pump works like a champ. It pumps the water in the tubing straight up 26 inches to exit the trash can, and then about 50ft across the lawn, and still has enough pressure to make the sprinkler ring throw the water about 6 feet in diameter and 3-4 feet in the air.I filter the water before I put it in the trash can, but even so, there is some fine lint that collects on the pump and on its pre-filter. However, the pump seems to handle this just fine. I have been using it 2-3 times a week for three months so far, and it is working just as well as when I started. I am very happy with this low-cost solution to my grey water irrigation.

Compact and high quality
Really nice pond pump. It is smaller than other similarly rated types I've used in the past. The quality is excellent. It started pumping with less output than I expected, but then after 2 weeks, the flow seems significantly higher... I think it actually needed some break-in time (because of extra tight seals?) Anyway, the pump is doing its job well and the quality seems great - and you can't beat the warranty. Definitely worth its higher price, in my opinion.

Works Beautifully!
The size of this pump is perfect for our small pond/birdbath. Its flow rate is great and it’s quiet. Who could ask for more?!

General 4-6 years with impeller replaced a few times.
Shame the base is well made, but impeller support is weak zone; support hole wears out. Gets to big and impeller drive magnet starts to hit or magnetic lock up. If caught soon enough, new impeller works. Have models 3,5,7 and 9.5b, all same issue. For idiots that take it apart and plug it in, will never turn even new, impeller has to be spaced center of main base; cannot do this if end pulled off. Only maker that still has the threaded or barb inlet. All my pumps use prefilter inlet, so less dirt to wear out faster. Been using these since 1995.

The only pump you can replace parts
I've been purchasing pumps for my pond for many years until I found this one! It was a hassle to constantly readjust pump settings with every new pump I had purchased as these pumps don't last forever and manufactures don't use the same inlet diameters or tubes. But now the ONLY thing I've had to replace is the impeller which is why pumps end up failing in the first place, and other pumps you cannot replace this part alone. So I've purchased a few spare impellers, and they are very easy and cheaper to replace. I keep the same pump setting and I've only had to replace the impeller once thus far in the 2 years I've had this pump. And I think it was my fault. I could've extended the life of it had I kept the filters clean.I've read some reviews that the prefilter melts, deforms or looses it's shape. Yes, it does! But this does not justify lowering the rating of this pump. Mine lost its shape, but functions just fine. Who cares! It's under water!!The key issue you need to keep in mind is that this pump might be a bit more expensive, BUT you can replace parts!! I've done my math and I can asure you that you end up saving money and time in the long run.If you have had a pond for many years like I have, you know that somehow these pumps break down at the most inconvenient time. Then you can't find the same pump because manufactures change models constantly. Then the pump doesn't fit right, you now need a different diameter tubing, or the GPH somehow is not the same... forget it! Buy this one... and don't forget to always keep an Impeller replacement handy!!

Works great!
We had to replace our pump with this one. It works very well. Easy to clean. Very fast flow. Perfect size for our small pond.

Moving water from 1st floor tank to basement slop sink.
Pump is moving water well, making water changes for 130 gal aquarium tank quicker.

Mold on pump; worn Teflon tape on outlet. Definitely not “like new”
This was advertised used, like new. This was obviously well used as per the mold on the pump and Teflon tape on the pump joint. It has an uneven tone when running…returning tomorrow.
