How is the midrange sound output? I'm always nervous about excessive bass drowning out everything else.

Like all components, it's what fed and the type of music you are listing to that helps make the difference. I have CD;s from 40 years ago, and they, having weak and muddled bass, sound surprisingly good, And I have an extensive collection of SHM-CD's, SACD, DSD, and 24bit re-mastered, and with this CD player, the mid's and the upper regions are well defined, clear, sharp,and a very good three dimensional sound stage. Miles Davis, Kind Of Blue album in SACD/Hybrid form, the cymbal opening crash in the first track, is so well defined, sparking almost, and you can hear it fade into infinity, something I've never heard before, and I have the vinyl, and the re-mastered CD of this album. The Marantz CD6007 takes music of all types to another level.

Yes it is a single disk player. If you like a high quality sound this is about the best unit I have ever owned!

If i buy this product, can I stream music from YouTube?

NO. This is a cd player that's all it does, plays cd's. If you want to stream music you need the Marantz NA6006 (music streamer) or Marantz ND8006 which is a cd player and music streamer.

I will be using the headphone amp mostly, if i hook up my iphone to the usb port can i listen to spotify/itunes? thank you

I have the CD 6006. And i’ll play my iphone 11 into the USB with no problem. But sounds like it’s not possible with the 6007. It’s too bad
