It came with a crappy A/C adapter
Just what I needed! But with one problem: It came with a crappy A/C adapter. It is an adapter that converts European style voltage to American and it's just not acceptable. It should of came with an American A/C adapter that converts to European voltage. I'm going to write to them to see if they can send me one for USA voltage and not this crappy adapter that is just too bulky, awkward and falls off of the wall outlet all of the time.

Con job marketing - I hate this
This box might work (I have absolutely no idea )as a sound module. But it is NOT a MIDI USB host so you CANNOT connect a USB keyboard to it and start playing. First it has a USB printer type port so connecting a controller needs a USB 5V 3amps powered hub to power up the controller. But it won't work. It'll break your heart like it did mine.Your keyboard MUST have the MIDI DIN In/Out ports to work, otherwise, your purchases might never end. You still need to buy a freaking MIDI USB host that can convert IO from a USB controller to DIN but I don't know whether it ends there or not. I mean I also bought a M4UEX from ESi. It doesn't work. That doesn't convert. They tell you all the "can do" but omit what is important. If you are really into a USB MIDI controller to Sound Module connection that works immediately out of the box, then think about the Midi plus MiniEngine sound module. It might be just for you. This unit is a con job. Only one picture so you don't know what the back is like and a name that includes USB to raise your hopes and make the stupidest purchase I've done in my useless life. You know what I ended up doing? I bought Midi-router for the Mac by Aaron Hunt from App Store. He saved my face from being endlessly lowest level stupid. I know I still had to spend some money, but now things work and no more opening of that resource wasting LogicPro. Yay!

Hardware to Add More Instruments to my Yamaha P-115
The PianoBox arrived when expected and as expected. Its casing is very sturdy. The display is easy to read and the preset buttons are easy to use. The user manual is horrible! But the device works very well once you figure out how to connect it. I emailed Miditech's Customer Support and received no response. My goal was to add additional instrument sounds to my Yamaha P-115 keyboard which has no MIDI ports. So, I also purchased the Miditech USB MIDI Host MIDI Interface. For others who try this, the USB B "printer" jack end of the connector is plugged into the P-115 port, and the USB A end of the connector is plugged into the "host" port of the Miditech USB MIDI Host MIDI Interface. Then a MIDI cable is connected from the Miditech USB MIDI Host MIDI Interface MIDI Out to the PianoBox MIDI In port. When using the P-115 keyboard, turn down its volume, use the volume control on the PianoBox. The user manual has ALL of the instrument presets off by 1! They really run from 0 to 127 rather than the manual's table running from 1 to 128! I compared its instrument sounds to the same instrument sounds generated using 2 different software packages, and the PianoBox holds its own in the instruments I was most interested in - woodwinds and bow string instruments. If the manual was better written and if Miditech's customer support had responded to my email, I would've given it 5 stars. The sounds are good for the amount of $s it costs.

Assembly no QA/QC
The product arrived with loose parts rattling around in the unit.Disappointed in the QA/QC.At any time based on where these metal parts set in the unit when moved around inside/on the circuit board , they can cause a malfunction or damage. Also the power supply is set up for the European power system not the US.GM sounds are OK.

Buyer beware
It seems like a sturdy well constructed item. I wanted it to add some sounds to my midi keyboard. Unfortunately the only sound I could get was the piano sound. I reached out to their customer service and never got a response.

EU only adapter. 220V
Seller sent a unit with EU power supply that does not work in US. It is 220V only. Bought in and shipped from within the US. We have tried and failed to buy a replacement ourselves, trial and error multiple adapters of correct voltage. Very frustrating that we would get a unit that is clearly not intended to be sold in the US

Not knowing they product and the region it is located in!
It would of been nice to try the PianoBox out , but it’s power adapter was setup for the European voltage! Someone should of known this before they sent this unit out in the USA ! It doesn’t need to be rated with one star , there should be no rating on something that cannot work in the USA!
