Strong steel, Bad Edge
I have several products from this company, and all of them are the same when they arrive, they are as they appear in the picture, and they are good quality steel, but you will spend some time refinishing that edge. Once it is done, add a good grip to your handle, and you have an excellent blade. Main complaint on this one is they did not make the sheath tight enough to actually grip the handle properly, it will fall out quite easily if you turn it over. I remedied this with a strong leather wrapping, which now presses into the sheath and keeps it from falling out

Expensive for what it is, solid blade but needs some work
Its expensive for what you get, there is no distal taper and that makes it kind of heavy for a blade this size, but its still maneuverable due to it being a small blade. It also doesnt come well sharpened from the factory, and the factory grind is too steep and uneven. The black oxide coating is well done, but i personally dislike it. I also feel that the handle is a bit slippery and too blocky for my liking, and i have big hands. Overall though, its a solid full tang sword, ive used it to chop down a small cherry tree about 4 inches in diameter. You can use any Gel rust remover to remove the black oxide coating from the blade, and you will need to grind the edge more evenly and sharpen it. You might also want to round off the handle to make it more comfortable. Its definitely a good durable sword but it requires some work to be up to par. For the full price its too expensive in my opinion, maybe on sale it would be worth it, but as an enthusiast of islamicate weapons especially ottoman/turkish swords. You wont find many other yatağans on the market anyways...
