Scotty #276 Anchor Lock, w/ 0241 Side / Deck Mount

Getting older and fishing alone most of the time made raising and lowering anchor more difficult over the years. I skeptically purchased then mounted the Scotty anchor system using self tapping bolts to the bow of my aluminum 16.5 foot boat Tracker boat. I then purchased a 10 pound collapsible grappling anchor with line to complete the set up. After 6 trips out I m very pleased with the product. I store anchor and mount securely in boat when trailering to destination yet in seconds have it back in the mount ready to use. I can now remain in my seat and raise and lower the anchor as desired with just a tug on the line. While on the water and preparing to travel a distance I raise the anchor all the way up and it locks in place but I also wrap the line around a second cleat to be certain it won’t accidentally drop. After 6 trips I see no reason the Scotty anchor system won’t last years to come. My mounting solutions remain solid and with little or nothing else to wear out I expect my anchoring problems are solved. I strongly suggest this product to any boat owner looking for a low cost simple yet reliable way of solving problem raising and lowering a boat anchor.

This anchor roller worked out perfectly for me. I have a new 19' Tracker with a rubber rub rail around the gunwales, and I always tried to be careful not to let the anchor rode chafe the rub rail when pulling up the anchor. I didn't want a permanently installed one because it would have been in the way of the boat cover. When I found this one online, I knew it was going to solve my problem. It makes retrieving the anchor really easy, keeps the rode out away from the gunwale, and is quickly pulled right off when I don't need it. My rode just coils up into a tub, then when I get it up to the chain, I simply heft the chain and anchor over and put it all into the tub. The tub has some holes in the bottom so the water drains out of the rode, and into a shallow round pan under the tub. The unit appears to be very strong, and I expect to to last. Another thing I did was to mount an additional cleat near the anchor roller, so when I set the anchor, I attach the rode to the cleat so the weight is on it, and not on the roller. The only time the weight of the anchor is even on the roller is when I'm releasing or retrieving the anchor.

Bought two for a 12’ Jon boat. Installed easy and are easy to reposition. The latch is the 4 star because if you pull the rope to fast or let it go to fast the latch pops up and won’t lock down like it’s supposed to.

I started out by purchasing one Anchor Lock with a flush mount and two Rod Holders with side mounts. I've loved them all. The Anchor Lock works great, with smooth and efficient operation put together in a VERY sturdy platform. Using 3/8" solid braid, deploying and retrieving my bow anchor is a breeze with one hand. On top of that, I could potentially move the Anchor Lock to any of the Side Mounts or any of the Rod Holders to bow Flush Mount position of the Anchor Lock. And did I say they're sturdy? I don't think you could destroy these if you tried. That being said, you'll want to take them off and stow them when covering your boat. But no worries, because though you could most likely drag your boat down an asphalt road by them when they're secured (I won't be testing my hypothesis), removal and adjustment are a piece of cake. 1.5 seconds. Tops. Literally. If you happen to choose to leave them on, don't worry, these will be around loooong after you're gone because they are essentially corrosion-proof. I'm currently writing this review because I'm just about to purchase another Anchor Lock with Flush Mount, and two more Rod Holders with Side Mounts! This will total 4 of the best Rod Holders and 2 of the best Anchor Locks money can buy on my skiff and I couldn't be happier. Purchase with the utmost confidence.

I went with this one because I had previously used a Scotty 278F on a different boat & decided it wouldn’t be a good fit for the bow of my Jon boat . Installation was very easy. Be mindful to install a doubler plate on the backside of your mounting surface when mounting on thin material. I swapped out a Scotty locking mount #241L instead of using the mount that was provided, because the anchor is mounted on the bow of the boat & I didn’t want the roller to be unintentionally pulled out by someone lifting the bow up when pushing the boat off the shore. I absolutely love this thing. I use a 20 pound lead pyramid anchor on the bow of a 1448 Yamaha G3 & it’s perfect to hold the boat in river currents . It’s easy to retrieve & held securely in place when running around. I’ve never had any problems with the lock slipping or sticking. I highly recommend this system ..

Funciona excelente, pero si lo quieres usar junto con un Anchor trolley no es lo mejor, ya que no permite que funcione correctamente el anchor y se vuelve complicado.
