Loved it until it died after only a few used.

This machine definitely served it's purpose, for the feet months that I actually worked. Yes, it's loud and tit takes time too make more than tone snowcone it slushie but when it's done it's done. I'm glad it worked for a few months, I guess. Now I'm stuck with all of the flavorings, snow come holders and their straws:/ good in intended for just a few uses, font buy the extras :/

This ice machine works great Very loud and not to quick but you can walk away and not stand there pressing the lid. Problem there is a safety latch that is clear plastic that engages the machine to shave the ice. This is very poor quality, I have bought two of these and no matter how careful you are the latch will stick in its safety mechanism and when you turn the lid to unengage this the safety plastic latch breaks. This makes the whole machine unuseable. Without this latch engaged the machine will not turn on. I was able to fix one of them for a 2 week period by using crazy glue on the broken latch. Temporay fix, but then it comes undone and then Bye-Bye ice shaver.

This was purchased as a gift. It was perfect. Very easy to use and lots of fun. There is practically no clean up and works just as promised.

Unless you unload jets for a living, the little plastic Rival ice grinder thing is unbelievably LOUD.Could accept the noise, but it is also SLOW. Expect 3-5 minutes to make a single snow cone. If you have kids waiting, then you know that is a deal breaker! Also expect hard ice chips the size of a grain of rice, not the melt in your mouth fluffy commercial shave ice quality.Worse yet, it would just spin noisily on ice from an automatic ice maker (typical half-moon shaped wedges) with no output. Had to pound the ice into tiny little chips first with a wooden mallet before machine would work slowly.I gave it two stars because I expect other cheap shave makers are similar.

I didn't have any problems with this machine. It shaves the ice really fast and does so in a way that you don't need a ton of ice to make a snowball (or snow cone). Really happy with this purchase, though I bought it at Wal-Mart brick and mortar for $27.88 rather than Amazon at $60.
