grandson enjoyed looking for the items in the casting. A bit of info on each of the items/shells would have been nice. took about an hour from start to finish to find all the items.

My son really likes these kits and this one is nice because it is not hard to dig. IT IS VERY MESSY. We have had these kits before and they are always dusty but this one is a darker color and stains hands and surfaces a little bit. Not a huge deal but something to keep in mind. This is one I would have rather saved to do outside.Other than that it is fun and a good price.

I was prepared for some mess, dust/dirt. I had my son do it outside, added water as recommended. I did not plan on black thick mud being EVERYWHERE. I definitely would have had him change clothes or hosed him off before coming inside! Taken his shoes off before hand, and/or had him wear goggles, his face looked like an old coal miner picture!But he had a blast, absolutely great product for the money, I had enough space to breathe and do the laundry. I’ll just be more prepared next time!

I was a little let down by this. It was a VERY dirty project and the kids couldn’t always tell what was a fossil and what was the plaster. They last about 10 min looking for the fossils.

This thing was the WORST thing to give my 5 year old son. It stained his hands and everything he touched afterwards (including the cement patio it was done on and door handles that he touched trying to come back inside). His clothes that he was wearing are completely ruined as well. 5 days later and he still have black on his nails :(
