Lovely design, works great, kid is mobile during bath times again
For us this was the perfect bathmat. It only moves when our 1.5 year old plays with the edges and loosens it. He is now able to do "push ups", stand up, sit down, walk from one side of the tub to the other, have splash wars with me and Dad, and can spin in circles. Bath time was much less fun with our old mat because he couldn't be as active and mobile without slipping - now he rarely slips, and when the bath mat does move it's only because he's messed with it (he really loves the design even though it's very minimal: he now points at it and says "whale!", and tries to color it with his bath crayons when we drain the water). I paid nearly full price for this before the recent sale price and would again. I am planning to purchase this for my parent's bath tub soon.I haven't had any issues with mildew or mold, but I do pull it out and disinfect it with his bath toys about once a week or more.

Adorable Mat - Funny Smell
Love this bath mat for our little one who loves to stand during bath time. It provides great traction for baby, but doesn't have any ridges or bumps that would cause discomfort for a child to sit or stand on. The color is slightly off white and the whale design isn't necessary, but I do love it.One star was removed because the bath mat arrived with a funny smell to it. I recommend washing with soap and then air drying outside prior to use. This removed the odor. Always pull up out of tub after each use so that it can dry and clean with disinfecting cleaner weekly to keep it mold free!

This item was pretty good when we first bought it two months ago
This item was pretty good when we first bought it two months ago! It did smell strongly of rubber at first, but at least it did its job: protected us and our baby from slipping in the bath. However, we absolutely hate it now. Unless you remove it after each bath or shower to hang up and dry, it immediately get slick with soap scum. Now we slip WITH it when we step into the shower as the suction cups don't seem to work very well. There are also 2 rips in it and I have no idea how that happened. It's safer for us adults to get into the shower without it, but we are keeping it for the baby, who is 14 months old and wants to stand in her bath. She is too light to move it with her body weight... Wish we went with something else!

We've been happy with the appearance and comfort
We purchased this bathmat about a year and a half ago. We've been happy with the appearance and comfort, but I find the suction a little over the top. I should have known by the pictures, but there are lots of little suction cups, which is great because the mat doesn't slip, but several months ago I noticed the paint on our bathtub peeling. Just about every suction cup has lifted the paint off the tub and several cups peeled the paint right off. The tub was in a great shape when we first moved here, but who knows how well the tub was refinished, so it could be the tub at fault... but just wanted to make note of this. I know I wasn't thinking about the possibility of ruining the finish of the tub when we purchased this mat. Now I'm not sure if I should continue to use the mat to cover up all the chipped paint spots or throw it away so the tub doesn't get worse. Refinishing the tub isn't cheap.

Great quality, bad suction.
The bath mat is of great quality material. It is heavy with no odor to it, which I appreciate since my son will be on it. With a few attempts of different amounts of water and steps, I have not been able to get the bath mat to stick to the tub. It is heavy so it pretty much stays in place but the front of it rolls which intrigues littles to play with it. The suction cups on the bottom are quite small which maybe the reason for the lack of suction. If the mat had good suction this would for sure be a 5 star as it is all natural too. It fits majority of our normal sized bath tub. About 10 inches on the two ends are exposed.

Works like it's supposed to
Does a good job of keeping my baby from slipping in the tub during her bath time, and I don't have to worry about her bare bum sitting on PVC. One thing to note - make sure to read the manufacturer's care instructions that tell you hang it up to dry after use. I'm usually not in a position to do so, as I have to juggle a wet toddler and towel at the end of bath time and don't have a free hand to take the mat out. Just be sure to clean it regularly. I clean mine every couple of weeks and by that time the edges of the mat have started to get slimy because the mat will hold water under it after you drain the tub. Overall a great product though. I would buy again.

Mildewed after a year, but still would buy again
I'm back for a second one of these. Ours lasted a year before becoming moldy enough on the back to need replacing. However, our bathroom is poorly ventilated and I didn't keep up with cleaning the mat as much as I should have. It's otherwise a nice mat, soft and without a horrible chemical smell, and the kids love the baby beluga design. I wouldn't be happy to pay $25 a year for a new one, but at the sale price it's worth it.

Don't believe the hype! This mat doesn't stick! It slips underfoot.
Natural rubber, pretty design, great reviews ... It all sounded good. However, this mat doesn't stick! I think it is because all the little suction cups are too thick, shallow, and small to stick even on a smooth surface in great condition. When I tested it out it would easily slip under my foot. There is no way I am going to use this for my daughter. I noticed that most of the reviews here are from those who received this product at a discount for their "honest" review. Don't believe the hype. I am now going to try another with many more reviews and almost 5-star rating.
