Gunnery Sgt. R. Lee Ermey Full Metal Jacket Figure

My 1st exposure to Gunnery Sgt. R. Lee Ermey was at the end of Marine Corp boot camp on Glorious Parris Island S.C. (April 1990) when they showed us Full Metal Jacket along with Jack Web in "The D.I." Two TOTALLY different movies. All I can say is that had I seen Full Metal Jacket prior to enlisting, I might not have had the nerve to enlist - you already have certain ideas about how the Marine Corps is and this film did absolutely NOTHING to downplay that notion. SINCE then however, I love everything about that film, ESPECIALLY the boot camp scenes. Hard Corps, Semper-Fi Do or Die. 0311, I can imagine no other Drill Instructor on my mantle.

The only minor problem is that the voice is not too clear...it's scratchy sounding, everything else is in excellent condition.

The items showed up with rusted batteries. I replace the batteries, and it still doesn't work. Overall, it's a poor product.

These things are a crack up. I'm an Army officer and keep this in my office at work for the occasional laugh.

It was received as advertised.

R.Lee Ermey and I can now talk whenever the mood strikes. Endless source of motivation and that Old Corps perspective.
