Ancor301506 Marine Grade Electrical Adhesive Lined Heat Shrink Tubing Kit (3/16 to 3/4-Inch Diameter, 6-Inches Long, Black, 8-Pack)

I have a boat and aircraft maintenance business and carry out a lot of crimping of wire terminals. This is the best unit I have used so far. This is a commercial grade crimper designed for years of trouble free use hence the price. This crimper puts a double crimp on the terminal at the same time. One to crimp the stripped wire and one to crimp om the wire insulation. A double crimp is usually required in aviation and is also recommended in marine installations.. Read the instructions that come with the tool! You must insert the terminal in the tool the correct way! The procedure is to locate the terminal in the tool and tighten the tool on the terminal enough to just hold the terminal in place. ( There is a release lever if the terminal moves out of position) Then insert the wire which is stripped to the correct length and then crimp the terminal until the tool releases. A nice feature is the ability to re-adjust the crimp tension as the tool wears but this crimper is so well made you would have to carry out thousands of crimps before you would need to adjust the tension! The tool is a bit hefty but smaller than the double crimp tool I am replacing it with which will be helpful when crimping a terminal in a tight space.

The advantage of "marine grade" shrink tubing is that it is lined with hot melt glue. So when you shrink the tubing it also forms a moisture proof seal. This is essential for any outside electrical work. Should you have to remove the tubing once installed - it can be removed with a sharp knife by carefully slitting the tubing up the side and prying it off.This is thicker and feels more rugged than the version Harbor Freight sells.You get an assortment of the common sizes as described, but I believe it is only one piece per size.I like the quality and the assortment - I just wish you got more pieces.

This is a real review, I paid full price for this itemused this to install radio, some power sockets, and amp on bayliner capri. unlike regular shrink tubing, this tubing takes a little while to heatup, so you have to be patient and heat it slow and evenly on all sides. Once it shrinks down it feels kind of soft but when cools down it feels very sturdy and the glue really sticks to the wires, sealing in the connection. These are much better than plain shrink tubing for marine use

crap product, hardly shrinks and the adhesive sucks.

As part of a complete battery + harness upgrade on my 95 Dodge Ram 2500 5.9L turbodiesel, I rebuilt my battery cables using welding cable, solder lugs, and this marine grade heat shrink tubing (to prevent moisture intrusion). These were well worth the price and performed exceptionally well under a heat gun. The final results and look were far better than I had hoped. Highly recommend these for any application where you need to completely seal the connection from moisture (like under-hood).

This is VERY good heat shrink. Was disappointed that was made in China but is still an excellent product. I am using it on my 72 Chevy truck and it is a good thickness and has good adhesive. Have bought more since after using this.

This is a small 8-pack of Ancor Adhesive Shrink Wrap..Assorted small 6" lengths.Works great, but very pricey.
