PS2 DualShock 2 Controller - Emerald

In light of the new consoles debuting, I saw fit to grab a PS2 while they were still floating about in the retail market (manufacturing has since ceased on this timeless console, so gotta take what you can get!), and I wound up with a refurbished one that was nonetheless in good shape. The controller however was on the edge of dying, to the point that every time it vibrated it would "disconnect". Thus I looked to amazon to get a new one. I used to have a blue PS2 controller just like this one back in the day with my first PS2 (Never sell this console, seriously), so when I saw it on amazon, I got totally psyched and ordered it. Came in a timely manner and works great! And the see-through blue casing is wonderful!

The original Sony controllers are far superior to the third party units. Third party units are typically sub-par in performance and quality and a lot of times they don't last very long at all. Some of them are just total garbage. If you own any Sony Playstation systems your best bet is to go with a genuine Sony controller as well as go with genuine Sony with other components and accessories. All of the controls worked very smoothly and is more comfortable to hold than third party controllers. The only thing I don't like about the Sony DualShock series controllers is the analog control sticks are way too sensitive to my liking. I really wish there was a way to adjust the sensitivity of the analog control sticks. Sony should have engineered the controllers with adjusting screws on the underside of the controllers that can be reached without removing anything.

Bought the Ocean controller, hoping to get a replacement controller for my brother's. Controller was dirty, like not on the outside of controller but the inside of controller. It had dust bunnies INSIDE the controller. I only found this out after testing the controller on a PS2 game where every button was malfunctioning like crazy. Seller sold me a dirty malfunctioning controller. Be wary of seller, rock30, they might have good stuff but this experience made me hesitant to buy from them.

For a used controller, it works well! I had my old one since the day I bought it but it seems that it’s finally run it’s course which meant it was time for a replacement. Absolutely love the color and detail in the transparency. The gamepad itself was a little dirty but with some cleaning wipes, you’re good to go!

The color of the controller was as pictured in the photo, if not a teeny bit darker, but eh, saturations are hard to portray on different computer monitors. It's still a really nice blue, and the controller works nicely. The only downside is that when it arrive, it was a little bit sticky and had sticky marks around the edges and contours of the shape of the design. I can probably just clean it off though with some anti bacterial wipes though so it's fine. Other than that, pretty nice! :)

I used to use PS2 controllers for my emulators by hooking them up to USB adapters. This was the best new controller I could find. It was nearly on par with the original controllers. Unfortunately my very old and very used original dualshock controller outperformed it, so I guess you just can't find top quality PS2 controllers anymore. These beat the heck out of the $5 controllers from Five Below, though.

In 2025 I still have this controller and it still works. I bought this color because my memory card was the same color. I also needed this for some pc gaming and it worked there too.

This arrived earlier than expected and I like it a lot. Nothing broken, there was also nothing wrong with packaging as well, exactly brand new. Works very well with a Dual Controller to USB Converter for playing emulator games on the PC. At the time I bought this, it also was much cheaper than the normal and regular looking black PS2 Dual Controller so this was a very good buy for its different color.
