good replacement.
I had a unit like this before, but the hydraulic piston stopped working and now it stays in its longest state. So I got this to replace it and it seems quite stable. If you are going to use this, make sure you know if you need the bottom portion threaded or not. Both are available....

Won't stay up.
Consistent fails, I can't keep up with how many of these I've had over the years and they all fail within 2 years.
