Great kit for a great value
I purchased this kit, as I was intended to buy most of these products anyway and it was much cheaper bought as a kit. All of the products work very well and are very high quality, as would be expected of Meguir's. -The car soap has a pleasant smell and easily lifts off dirt without scratching your vehicles paint. -The wax really impressed me. I work offshore and washed and waxed my truck a few days before flying out. My truck stayed in a dusty gravel parking lot for two weeks and still looked freshly waxed when I got back. Normally it looks like someone took a plaster impression of my truck and forgot to wash off the residue. So, yeah the kit was worth it to me for just the wax alone. -The tire shine is excellent and is probably the best I've used to date. It is a very thick gel, that is a little difficult to get into all the nooks and crannies, but provides a very long lasting shine and protection to you tires. Make sure to get a foam applicator pad, as it's not easy to put on with a microfiber towel. -The interior detailer works very well and provides a barrier against dusk and smudges, without leaving a nasty oily residue like some other products do. I hate using the greasy products, cause they always make my dash shiny and the residue seems to trap more dust and fibers than a matte finish. -The wash mitt works really well and is very soft, so I know it's not going to scratch my paint. My only complaint is that it is a little difficult to get clean and I can see myself having to replace it soon. I got some tar on it when I drove over a freshly paved road section and that stuff is now a permanent part of the glove, it's only a very small spot though. -The foam applicator is a little disappointing, it feels porous and unsubstantial and doesn't really hold was any better than most cheap foam pads I've used. It's not my tire shine pad. -I haven't used the plastic renewal product yet, since my truck is pretty new and I don't have cloudy headlights. -The drying towel is alright, but I really prefer natural chamois to synthetic ones, nostalgic I guess. It does works fine, but just doesn't have the same feel to it. -My only real gripe is with the clay bar, while I love the detailing spray and it will get a lot of use for touch-ups in between washes, the clay bar just isn't aggressive enough to work properly. I would personally go with Mother's clay bar kit if you are looking to get a good removal of contaminants and stubborn stuck on stuff. All in all though this kit is an excellent purchase for anyone just getting into detailing that needs the basic products to get a good long lasting shine on their vehicles.

Legitimate.
I recently bought my first car, and while it isn't new, it is new to me. My brother-in-law is a mechanic and car enthusiast, and from the time my husband and I started talking about buying a car, he began to interrogate us on our plans to take care of it (our previous car was an old hand-me-down and we didn't "take care of it" so much as "struggled to keep it running"), from maintenance schedules to washing routines. He's old school: He talks to mechanic friends, asks around at the local dealership, checks in with the local auto parts stores, when he needs car information. We're new school: YouTube tutorials, review aggregation, almost exclusively on-line consumers. Privately, my sister confided that he didn't think our approach was a legitimate one when it came to car detailing. We purchased this kit a week after we got our car, and on the two-week anniversary of the purchase, we asked permission to use his hose (with the car-wash nozzle-thingy) and got to work. When I lined the products up (to remember the recommended order given in another review by Steve H. which was PERFECT by the way), he couldn't help but voice surprise we'd gotten such a comprehensive collection of products (and was further impressed when I told him Amazon's rock-bottom price). Under the guise of "playing catch" outside, he watched over us, giving us on-the-spot tips he'd learned about efficient washing. When it was all over, and my husband and I were admiring how beautiful the car looked (bright, shiny, and smooth-as-silk to the touch (which I know we aren't supposed to do but then WHY DOES IT FEEL SO GOOD?!)), my brother-in-law came out and said two things I think I'll never forget: "Wow, you guys are still out here?" *a beat to look at the car* "Wow. Looks great. Want to do mine next?" It goes without saying that no one else but him has ever washed his car (not even the dealership when he gets it serviced, vacuum only), so we couldn't ask for a better compliment. This was our first detail and the products were so easy to use. With Steve H.'s recommended tips, we were able to hide many of the flaws in the paint that we noticed (and negotiated with) at purchase after the dealer's so-called "detailing" and produce an amazing, like-new finish look on our '09 Subaru. I would recommend this to anyone, even those who have never detailed a car before. It's such a great kit, and it will give you exactly the look you are hoping for with a minimal amount of work. I'll never run my car through a "touchless" car wash again, knowing I can produce a work of art from home with this kit and careful upkeep. I recommend you do the same!

Great all-in-one starter kit
This is a great all-in-one starter kit to introduce you to a good lineup of Meguiar's products. I've always preferred them over others, and so do a lot of enthusiasts alike! The wash mit is by far the best one I've found, and in fact I've ordered several since to make sure I always have a clean one (remember if it touches the ground, a wheel, or anything else caked with dirt, wash it before touching your paint please). The Shampoo/Conditioner is the best I've found next to Pert Plus :-). It's a classic that suds/foams well and does a great job of getting off grime and washing off clean w/out residue. The interior detailer is a great detailer that does not leave a real greasy/ugly after effect on your dash/equipment that some others do. I used the PlastX on some old headlights and it seemed to work surprisingly well, I haven't been able to get them clean with any regular cleaner before, but i haven't tried any other specialty/target cleaners on them yet either so I can't necessarily compare. Quik detailer is good for cleaning off that bird droppings the day after you wash your car and you don't want to do it again. Now if they only came out with a product to get rid of the birds... I like the Gold Liquid Wax - I've only used it once though and i thought it looked pretty good afterwards and held up fairly well. I don't wax enough (I know I should) to really compare this well. If you just want to get a feel for some of their products, just starting out, or need all of them - then go ahead and get this kit. You can't go wrong, as it is very reasonably price for the amount of beauty it provides to your car and your life.

Great value kit
I ordered this kit to replenish my displaced detailing materials when I moved. A couple things that it was missing and I had to order separately, was an ample amount of microfiber and terry cloths, as well as a tire sponge for the gel. I also bought a chamois (Absorber) for the drying process and Turtle Wax Oxy Interior1 for carpet and upholstry. Stoners foam spray for the windows. I had the opportunity to use some of the kit's products on a variety of cars with different levels of owner stewartship (some kept 'em clean, others never washed). The bottle describes the car wash as "luxurious." After using it several times, I can't find a better word for it. It feels silky as you wash; it's exquisite. The mitt can remove most debris, even built-up grime with some elbow grease. The clay came with some instructions. I've never clayed a car before, and when I did (with the included quick detailer), I was beat! It is a job and a half if you have some build-up and lots of impurities on the car. With determination, it lays the foundation for the next steps. I have not tried the Scratch-X. Some say to use it to various degrees, but most say it doesn't make much of a difference, so I skipped it for now. I applied the wax and buffed it out - an extremely nice shine. A friend of mine advised I put a layer of polish on top of that so I did (NuFinish)... afterward as I was telling him how much of a chore the polish is compared to the wax, he said no, put the polish down first then put wax on. Uh! The wax left no residue, but I'm still working the tiny white streaks that the polish left behind in the chips, dinks, nooks and crannies several weeks ago, one wash at a time. For the tire gel, you have to ensure it goes onto clean tires. I scrub mine with a small mixture of Comet and water and a tire brush, then rinse. Even so, when I applied the gel using the tire sponge (bought separately), the sponge still picked up a lot of muck. The directions suggested using a "medium" amount of gel. Apparently my medium wasn't good enough because the shine lasted about 36 hours... then when I sloshed it on there with the next application, taking off the excess with the sponge, it retained somewhat of a clean-tire appearance for much longer. In other words, at least for the first application, be very liberal with the product and focus on one quarter of the tire at a time to get in-between the grooves and lettering. This is a seated performance per wheel. Lastly, the interior detailer did its job. Spray onto a terry and scrub, microfiber to finish. It does not shine like other products, but it will look nice and clean. All in all, it's a great kit for a great value. The mitt, application sponge, and towel are easily machine washable. The other items I had to order or pick up are more (1) microfiber and (2) terry cloths, (3) a set of tire sponges, (4) a chamois, (5) window cleaner, (6) carpet/upholstry cleaner (leather cleaner for those seats), and (7) polish. If it had most of these other items, THEN it would be a "complete" care care kit, at least as far as product is concerned. As it stands, it is more of an exterior line of products. Buy it; you won't be disappointed. A couple of recommended items for those OCD as I am include Rain-X for exterior glass and mirrors and an odor-neutralizing spray like Ozium. Love your vehicle and maintain it well. It is too important not to.

Wash away your headaches
With my previous car I would take it to car washes and drive off with water spots and some dirt and grime still on my car. Being a new car owner, I would love for this vehicle's paint to look new for years to come. Only way to accomplish this is to wash my car myself and know everything that's being used on my vehicle. Being a newbie to car washing, I did some research and Meguiar tends to pop out the most. After searching I stumbled upon this package which seems to bring a good amount of items for car washing. When receiving the package I noticed it didn't bring any instructions or detail sheet explaining each product. Some items have directions on the back of it and some items you're left to ponder about. So I quickly jumped on to YouTube and found a Basic Meguiar Car Wash Video (http://youtu.be/Jrj2BXnZuww) which coincidentally used most of the products in this package. Before starting the car wash I quickly put 75% of the items to the side with the mindset that i wouldn't utilize them the first day. When starting the wash I quickly found myself needing each and every product. From the clay bar, the the mist spray, ScratchX, etc. when I was done I was surprised how each product did what was advertised. Better yet, I didn't have to run out to the store to get an additional product due to this package bringing everything I need. When I was done my car looked great, if not better than the time I drove it off the lot. I would highly suggest to get 2 sets of the Meguiar MicroFiber Terry towels that come in a pack of 3, since truthfully 1 is not sufficient. This is a great starter pack and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to care for their car.

A Great Car Kit--I recommend to everyone.
To be honest I am not a "car buff" or know a lot of stuff about cleaning cars and detailing. I'm just the type of person who cleans their car every now and then. Anyways, I got this product on Amazon Prime Day for about $39 dollars and it was a good deal considering each bottle and accessory costs more than that. I used all the products besides the wax, clay kit and inside retailer. I began with washing my car with the Gold Class Conditioner and Shampoo and it's a good product. I cleaned my sister's call as well which hasn't been washed in God knows how long it has been. The wash was effective, removed all the dirt and unwanted particles on both cars. I used the microfiber wash mitt. Then, I used the PlastX for my headlights/plastic light surfaces and it was extremely effective. My current car had a bit of "fogging" on the headlights and a bit of the PlastX on the foam applicator proved to be effective. I finally used the ScratchX 2.0 on areas where scratches were visible and it didn't completely remove the scratches but it did fade them away to the point where they weren't noticeable unless you are extremely up close. I used a bit of the Quik Detailer on the outer surface of my car and the results were so so, I wasn't completely impressed so I didn't bother detailing the outside of my car (the car wash prior had the car looking decent. I didn't use the other products included but I am sure it would have made the car look outstanding. I recommend buying additional foam applicators because mixing scratchX, PlastX and the Endurance Tire Gel isn't good (think about having residue of the Endurance Tire Gel on every other part of your car instead of being on the tires, or headlights only). Overall this is a great kit and I really enjoyed using it and will definitely finish using this kit again.

Great set if you want to detail your car yourself!
Great set of products! I haven't used a few of the items in the set but I have used most of them. I used a tooth rush with the PlastX cleaner for my headlamps and went over them each three times and got great clarity! The clay detailer is AMAZING! I had never even heard of such of thing but it makes your car SO smooth. Great to use before the wax so the wax really sets in. The scratchX worked well on REALLY thin scratches by just taking some of the whiteness away. Very fine abrasive that doesn't scratch the rest of your paint. The wash worked fine but my car probably could have used it twice so I wasn't taking off so much gunk when I used the clay bar. The carnauba wax worked really well also! It didn't come with a tire cleaning brush so I haven't used the tire shine yet. My only real gripe is the QuickDetailer spray nozzle leaked everywhere. It was quite annoying to use and I lost a lot of product. The top wouldn't screw on correctly. Despite this, I used it after the wash and before the clay detail and it worked well.

A great value for car care...
I've used Meguiar's products in the past and was always happy with the results. This kit provides pretty much everything you need to get your car to have a showroom look. Individually, each product is more costly and when you add the washing glove and the wax sponge, you have a superb value. While you can certainly choose not to use certain products and save some money, at the cost of this kit you actually get some items virtually for free. Now, for the process and results: 1. Wash the car with the car wash and use the wash glove. It is effective in removing grime and even some of the insects that always find a way to crash into the front of your car. 2. Clay the car and take your time as this step can provide a huge payoff on the quality of the overall result. I used the clay on my wife's new Lexus and the results were amazing. The surface felt clean and soft. 3. Use the ScratchX product for scratches and swirls. In certain cases, this product can remove the scratch completely. Just follow the directions and note that you may need multiple applications. In my 2001 Avalon I was able to remove most of the vestige of a large scratch running down the right side of my car around the middle of the doors. The scratch isn't fully gone, but it is effectively masked. 4. Use the Gold Class liquid wax to finish off your hard work. I understand the new ICE liquid wax leaves no milky residue, but if you work with this you will not be disappointed. The end result will be a mirror-like finish which really shows off for dark-colored cars. I personally used microfiber towels in all the steps of the process. They are lint free and very effective. BTW, the Quick Detailer product is something you will want to keep around. It is almost like a car wash in a bottle. Fortunately, it is available at stores like Wal-Mart for reasonable prices, so you don't need to order it online. The Interior Quick Detailer also does a fine job. Very neutral and cleans surfaces well. Does not leave any residue. Beats that Armor All product by a mile. The other products are add-ons that have limited value but can still be useful. The PlastX definitely brings out the shine in the plastic surfaces of the car, but there aren't many of those around. The Endurance High Gloss does not provide a really shiny gloss, but it does last longer than other options. Use a basic (disposable) towel for the tires because they will get heavily stained using the High Gloss product.
