I have an opening of 190 inches. Can I buy extensions for this gate? Or put two gates together?

Thank you for your question. The Custom fit Gate only fits widths of 65" -143". No additional panels are available. When combining two Custom Fit Gate, transfers into a Playard only. We do not recommend using two Custom Fit Gates to make 1 long Gate, for safety reasons. Thank you.

How wide are the gaps between the slats/fabric?

There are 3 gap areas that are approx. 2.5-3" wide on each side of the door and the main panels as well as a similar sized gap at each end where the main panels connect to the wall. It's hard to explain but you can see them if you expand the images on the listing

Does the door have a "hold open" feature so that the door stays open on its own? Or does it automatically close behind you?

No it just flops back and forth. Side note also my son shakes the door a little And pops open. Took a scarf and tied so he can't just open every time he shakes it now
