Long-lasting moisture
I've been using Refresh eyedrops for years, but the relief never lasted long. In searching for new preservative-free eye drops, I came across these. I was a bit nervous about the ideal of a "gel" (I wouldn't call them that personally; they're thicker than usual drops, but not by much). But I love them. I got these mostly for use at night right before bed, and I purchased the Extra bottle of drops from Thera Tears for daytime use. The first time I put these gel drops in, my vision got very blurry, but that only lasted for a few minutes until the drops worked their way around in my eyes. By morning, for the first time in as long as I can remember, my eyes weren't painfully dry anymore. I love these. I noticed some other reviewers mentioned a "grainy" feeling. I wouldn't say that, but I think I know the sensation I mean. On the second time I used these drops I felt a weird dryness for about a minute. It seemed to have to do with my eyelid moving across my eye where part of the eye was coated with the gel drops and part was still dry. That caused a semi-painful scratchy sort of feeling that I could someone calling "grainy." But as soon as I moved my eyes around a bit then closed them for a minute or so, that feeling went away. The drops just had to be worked around. Being thicker that can take a little longer than normal eye drops. So that could be what others are describing unless they received damaged bottles (maybe ones that were exposed to freezing temps or too much heat in shipping?) or unless they had a reaction to something in them. But my experience has been quite positive, especially now that I know how to work around that brief uncomfortable feeling. UPDATE: I've been paying more attention to that "grainy" feeling with these gel drops compared to the thinner ones. And it seems to be partly an eyelash thing in my case in addition to it taking longer to work its way around the eyes. Because the gel is a thicker drop, it seems to move the lashes around more if it comes in contact with them, and that's causing the scratchy feeling temporarily (like having a lash in your eye). It still sorts itself out quickly though. I have very straight lashes that come in front of my eyes if they're not curled, so if you don't have that issue, it might not affect you that way.

Thera Tears Liquid Gel Nighttime Preservative Free Eye Drops
I had been using Systane Night Gel for years but have been increasingly displeased with its lack of availability which has led me to this product. I have the severest of dry eyes so I must take extra precautions to preserve my eyesight. I cannot use petroleum-based ointments. I purchased my medicine from Mr. Medical on Amazon Market Place & found the box to be well sealed & in perfect condition upon receipt. The individual single use vials were further sealed upon opening the outer box which gave me more confidence that it was indeed tamper proof. The actual gel was thick & easily inserted into my eyes. The gel was nice & soothing. There was no gummy or clumpy feeling. My eyelids do not close tightly so I did take a single dose of Systane Eye Gel about 3:00 a.m. as an extra precaution only as this is when my eyes are the dryest. The combination worked well & felt really thick. My eyes felt rested & refreshed upon waking the next morning. My vision seemed to be sharp & clear the next day. I think that I am going to be able to safely use this product & maintain my current visual acuity. I think that I will keep using this product long after Systane goes back into production because there were no clumps of gel to have to deal with the next day as with Systane.

Finally I can sleep all night
I have a severe dry eye problem and am allergic to almost anything meant to go in the eyes. I began using TheraTears preservative-free, but would have to get up 3 or 4 times a night to put another drop in because my eyelids were glued to my eyeballs. I discovered the nighttime version purely by accident, and read all the Amazon reviews. As some reviewers said, it can feel like something is in your eyes. But another reviewer had a fix for that sensation that works: close your eyes and roll your eyes around. Presto, it works. I would recommend not putting these drops in until you're ready to go to sleep, because it can cause blurring if you read or watch TV before you go to sleep. Now dry eyes wake me up only once or not at all.

Can be used in the daytime. Excess hardens to crusts on eyelashes
Quality product for dry eye. No matter what the label says, you can use it during the day. For a few mins in the daytime, the viscosity for dominate, but afterwards the product will stay working in your eye without blurriness for 2+ hrs. This is not an all-nite product as its effectiveness wears off after 2 hrs or so. The negative aspect about it is: some of it will flow onto an eyelid and harden to very annoying, hard crusts on the eyelashes. Similar products from others never do that. It can take some eyelid washing to remove some crusts.

Very soothing. Last all day.
These are the most soothing eye drops I've used. I have tried many and most wear off in about a half an hour. I use these at night before bedtime and the next morning my eyes feel great. I sometimes use them when I wake up. It makes my eyes blurry for about 5 minutes. It keeps my eyes moisturized the rest of the day. If you have meibomian gland disorder please order these. You won't be sorry.
