Awesome little book for the money!The build is solid, it's small enough to be carried around, yet big enough to have ample space to write or draw!The paper is thick enough to use tiny black ink pens, and be able to flip the page and not see through, which is an awesome bonus.I did not find a use to the small compartment but the elastic helps avoid damage to the pages!The only could find is that the book rarely opens flat, and that's why i gave it 4 stars. The booklets inside seem to have been glued in a way that you very rarely ever get the chance to have two flat pages to use for either a bigger drawing or just to avoid having to force the previous/next page down in place every time. I find myself having to hold the previous page away while i write with my other hand all the time.

Seems good so far, love the yellow cover and it looks like it will hold together well. Felt tip/fine sharpie pens leak through the pages but that's not such a big deal for me.

So I purchased the red bound plain a5 1-pack. I was so excited to get it and this journal ended up being a piece of junk! The pages are so thin that both pencil and pen marks bleed through.. and not only do they bleed through but they bleed through 3 pages! I did a very light sketch of a drawing using pencil and it bleed through 2 pages. I also tried using 3 different pens and they all bleed through! Not only would I say this is a definite no for sketch artist but even a no for regular folks who just want to write in a journal! Like whats the point of this journal if you are going to have so much bleed through you cant even see whats on the next page? terrible quality and not worth the money! I should have repurchased my other journals that had thick pages and cost $8 for a 2 pack!

I bought some notebooks from the same company/listing in 2019 and one today. They look nothing alike. The color and feel is different. New one has a metallic shine to it, texture and the gold foil logo in the front. Elastic does not match the cover like it used to. Bookmark was a simple ribbon, now it has 2 with gold thread on the edge. Old one had no logo and color was more of a soft milky pink, soft touch cover. The old cover was resistant to stains, i carried my notebook everywhere and it held up well through the months of use. Overall the old design was much nicer, more sophisticated i have no idea why it was changed. New one feels cheap and tacky, like something you can get in the dollar store. Paper is ok, off-white, it looked better with the old cover. If this brand positioning itself as a minimalist-type then there should be more attention to detail

The notebook on the left is one I purchased in 2020. It was the dotted page in amber. And I LOVE it. The perfect buttery, golden yellow.I needed a new notebook, so I ordered again. The dotted Page option was unavailable, so I went with plain paper. Still wanted the yellow color.The one on the right is the new one which I’m pretty disappointed with in terms of color. It’s definitely more of a muted gold and has a shimmer aspect to it. I’ll probably give it to my daughter (she likes shiny things) and I’ll keep looking around.
