Raina Telgemeier's #1 New York Times bestselling, Eisner Award-winning graphic memoir based on her childhood! Raina just wants to be a normal sixth grader. But one night after Girl Scouts she trips and falls, severely injuring her two front teeth. What follows is a long and frustrating journey with on-again, off-again braces, surgery, embarrassing headgear, and even a retainer with fake teeth attached. And on top of all that, there's still more to deal with: a major earthquake, boy confusion, and friends who turn out to be not so friendly. Review: My daughter and niece loved it so much we bought the whole series - I originally bought this for my 9 year old daughter and 12 year old niece, and they loved it so much we ended up buying the rest of the books in the series. The graphic novel style kept them really engaged and made it easier to get excited about reading. The story was relatable, funny, and emotional in a way that connected well with both age groups. Definitely a great choice for kids who enjoy graphic novels or are reluctant readers. Review: Amazing book!! - this book is amazing, i have read it a lot of times and it is really addicting. i would totally recommend this book and the rest of the series.

Great for 8-12 year-old girls
This whole series is great for upper elementary to middle school age girls. My daughter has read this over and over and we decided to gift a copy to my niece. She also loves it and has requested the other books in the set.

Great for a Christmas gift
I personally haven't read the book, I've skimmed parts and my daughter has told me about some of it. My daughter (12yrs) loves this book. She has been into graphic novels for quite some time now and has read this book several times. I know that me not reading it doesn't give much for a review but if you have a daughter in the 10 years of age range that likes to read or is into graphic novels, give it a shot.

My daughter finished reading this entire book in just one sitting. The images hook the readers and the free writing style makes it very captivating.
