Replaced My Expensive Controller with This Budget One and Couldn't Be Happier
Sometimes the best upgrades are the ones that cost less than what you're replacing. My previous solar charge controller finally gave up on me, and the ironic part is that I paid considerably more for it than I did for this one. After installing this controller, I was pleasantly surprised by how much functionality is packed into such an affordable unit. The LCD display is easy to read, the controls are straightforward, and having adjustable settings available gives you more flexibility than many basic controllers in this price range. What stood out to me most is that it simply does what it's supposed to do. It automatically handles both 12V and 24V systems, provides useful information on the display, and gives you additional features like timer settings and USB outputs, which can be convenient depending on your setup. Installation was straightforward, and once connected, everything worked as expected. For anyone running a small solar setup, RV, shed, backup battery system, or off-grid project, having a reliable charge controller is essential, and this one feels like an excellent value for the money. I also appreciate that the display provides enough information to quickly check the status of your system without needing additional monitoring equipment. Pros: - Excellent value for the price - Easy-to-read LCD display - Supports both 12V and 24V systems - Adjustable settings and timer functions - Dual USB ports are a useful addition - Straightforward installation - Performs the basic charge control functions well Overall: After replacing a much more expensive controller that failed, I honestly wish I had purchased this one sooner. It offers a surprising amount of functionality for the price and has performed exactly as I needed it to. If you're putting together a small solar system and want a budget-friendly charge controller that offers good features and solid performance, this one is definitely worth considering.

These do the job
For an inexpensive charge controller these units do the job. Be advised that the description states that some voltage inaccuracy is normal. I bought 2 units and one measures 2% high and the other 1.5% high. While this may not be an issue for some, if you are particular about the readings and the trickle voltage settings one should take this into account. For example if it reads 2% high and you want to set the trickle voltage at 13.8 V then the setting on the trickle voltage setting on the controller needs to be set at 14.1 V. You can check the accuracy of the controller by measuring its output voltage with a known good accurate voltmeter. Once the offset is accounted for the units accurately function well. One additional feature that would be nice on these inexpensive controllers would be to have it measure charging current. I do not have any long term usage on a unit yet.

Worth the price if you just need USB from battery
Works well, although not efficiently, with 12v panels. It's easy to use although has no setting for Li batteries. I use one for 12v LiFeP battery and it works fine. You can set the voltage for charge and float. USB outlets control voltage at 5.1 v regardless of battery volts (anything from 10.5 to 14 on mine). Worth the price for the controlled USB voltage from a 12v battery.

Help saving a lot on your electric bill.
I used this on a retrofit hot water heater that I used a 12 v RV. water heater element on. It's running off of a 100 w solar panel so far. (I will be adding more later). I'm starting with the highest power usage items first. Then eventually work down to the lowest like the refrigerators. next on the hit list is the electric clothes dryer. I'm building this to run off of a diesel parking heater. this will save a ton on electric. I run these on dyed diesel @ $18.00 for 5 Gal. mixed with used motor oil or kitchen oil for more savings. this way I can stay with low voltage. this unit seems like a pretty good build quality with a lot of features and it's compatible with most 12 v parts. I like the display and it's easy to install. I am planning on buying more of these as I build up my system.

The price was good, but the charge controller is cheaply made, and I don't see it lasting very long.
It's small, lightweight, and cheaply made. The instructions were disjointed, seemed lacking, and at first, they said "This controller is only applicable to lead-acid batteries." This would have been enough to pass this by, but now I had it, I went and looked up the [Upgraded] instruction sheet. There were instructions for picking the type of battery, including Lithium ion phosphate. The other problem I have with these is the size of the connector slots. I hard a really difficult time getting 10 gauge wire from the panels installed and *staying in*. This is where the controller FEELS cheap. and the tiny set screws almost required a set of jewelers drivers to tighten them down. I'm still waiting for some of the items for this build to arrive, can't really write a product review until they can be tested, I finally got the deep charge battery, and all I had to spare for wire was 12 gauge to wire the controller to the battery. Since I just wanted to make sure the controller wasn't DOA, as others reported, I decided to go for it (the inverter had its own cable). I was expecting the wires to get warm when I energized the circuit, but other than a few 5V items, I just wanted to see if the panels would feed the controller, the controller would come on and allow me to set battery type, and check the voltage, the inverter would turn on, and that was it. Since it was late in the day, it didn't really charge the battery, but everything appears to work with no heat from the undersized wire. I'll test that as I put the system together with bus bars, a fuse box, breakers, and safe wiring size. But seriously - just because an item is cheap doesn't mean it shouldn't support safe connections using the correct wire gauge (which in this case would be 8 AWG from the controller to the battery - and I bet it wont fit. The bottom line is this: I went cheap on a couple of things, since I'm building this out for a camper from scratch. It not a bad controller, but from reviews, I don't expect it will last long and this is the first time for building one of these, so when it fails, I'll go for an MPPT controller, likely at ten times the cost.

Do not buy
Bought it to charge my car. Hooked up the battery then solar and set the right battery type. It slowly drains my battery until dead every time. And now my truck dies under acceleration. Do not buy. All it’s safety measures were faulty from the start and caused me quite a lot in damages. Terrible don’t buy.

Perfect for my application, no issues so far...
Installed in my boat cabin for a few weeks by now. No issues so far. I like the double USB. Note that the load on / off switch interrupts the ground, not the positive. So you have to wire your switch board accordingly. To me that was the selling argument, as it is a rare feature on this size controller, which saves a lot of extra wiring in a starter / service battery setup. Be careful with the wire connectors, they are directly on the circuit board, so don't force that screwdriver too much...
