Q: I wear a 34 size waist, should I get medium or upsize to large?

I got the medium, and then got the large. Personally, I don't like things too tight against my waist and I always allow for dryer shrinking. I am a 32 waist and while the medium is just on the edge of comfortable, the large is just right.

Q: What is the length of each size? Size chart shows only waist not length.
