Finicky and troublesome.
I have an SC-901. Sometimes it doesn't recognize it at first, and the only solution is turn the stereo off/on.The USB charging port is not sufficiently isolated from the aux in port, so if you're using an mp3 player and want to charge it, then you get a nasty feedback from the power into your speakers, at least it does when you power it via the stereo's main 12V line (included instructions use this); maybe on a different circuit it wouldn't.You need to set which CD on the car's radio for each function (bluetooth is the default, CD1, and aux-in CD2), but since I powered this via an auxiliary power line (ie: only on when car is on) it turns off, and so it's not 'on' when the stereo turns on, and so stereo forgets it has it. So every time you turn the car off, the stereo defaults back to radio and you have to turn the stereo to 'CD-6' (the changer) then select the function you want, unless you turned the stereo off before power-down, then turned it back on after the device powers (it does this very fast, at least.)Bluetooth I've only used a few times just to make sure it worked, and if you can get it to connect, it works, and has good signal quality. It only briefly broadcasts its bluetooth signal, so if you don't have whatever you want to pair on when you turn it on, may not get it.. and the only way to get it to see it is to turn it off...and since it gets power from the aux of the car...that means turning the car completely off. Same if you want to change device, say to your friends phone, later in your trip.Lastly, it has two fairly bright red and blue LEDs, red for power and blue for bluetooth. No idea why these are there, but I don't like them and think they look tacky, and of course, without taking it apart there is no way to turn them off.All around, for the price, I think this is junk. It's expensive because really, there's no other way to get an aux in and bluetooth without changing stereos (head unit).Honestly, if you don't have the Dolby Surround that you didn't want to give up (like me) then I would replace the stereo rather than deal with this, especially at this price point.
