Here it is, the 1995 multi-platinum smash that made Alanis an alt-rock superstar and earned a perennial spot in all the major "Best Rock Albums of All Time" lists (including Rolling Stone's). An Unforgettable Journey of Raw Emotion: Jagged Little Pill on Vinyl
Alanis Morissette's Jagged Little Pill is an iconic album that captivated the hearts and minds of millions upon its release in 1995. Its fusion of alternative rock, confessional songwriting, and Morissette's powerful vocals created an unforgettable musical experience. Now, as I sit here with the vinyl edition of this landmark album, it is an opportunity to delve even deeper into the raw emotion and authenticity that defines Jagged Little Pill. First and foremost, the vinyl format adds an extra layer of intimacy to the listening experience. As the needle gently caresses the grooves, each track unfolds with a warmth and richness that digital mediums often struggle to replicate. The analog sound quality enhances the album's raw energy, giving the songs a sense of immediacy and depth that grabs your attention from the first note. The opening track, "All I Really Want," sets the stage for what lies ahead. Morissette's unapologetic and deeply personal lyrics resonate in a profound way. The vinyl format amplifies the album's emotional intensity, allowing the listener to feel every ounce of Morissette's vulnerability and anger. Whether it's the explosive "You Oughta Know" or the introspective "Ironic," the vinyl pressing captures the nuance and power of each song, showcasing the full range of Morissette's artistry. One of the highlights of the vinyl edition is the way it encourages a more immersive experience. It's not just about listening to the music but also engaging with the album as a whole. The large album artwork, lyrics printed on the inner sleeve, and the physical act of flipping the record create a tactile connection that heightens the appreciation of Morissette's craftsmanship. It's an invitation to dive deep into the lyrics, explore the themes, and get lost in the ebb and flow of the album's narrative. Another noteworthy aspect is the vinyl's dynamic range. The instrumentals have a distinct presence, allowing the listener to appreciate the individual nuances of each instrument. From the jagged guitar riffs to the thunderous drums, the vinyl reveals the intricacies of the production, immersing you in the raw power of the band's performance. While Jagged Little Pill on vinyl is an exceptional experience, it is important to note that the album's original mastering quality plays a significant role. The vinyl pressing faithfully preserves the original production, ensuring that you are experiencing the album as intended by Morissette and her collaborators. This attention to detail ensures that the album's sonic landscape remains intact, taking you back to the '90s and allowing you to rediscover the magic of this groundbreaking release. Jagged Little Pill on vinyl is an absolute must-have for any fan of Alanis Morissette or music lovers in general. It is a journey of introspection, empowerment, and catharsis that transcends time. The vinyl edition elevates the listening experience, allowing the full emotional weight of Morissette's music to shine through. From the raw energy of her vocals to the pristine instrumentals, every aspect of this album is enhanced by the warmth and authenticity of vinyl. So, find a cozy spot, put the needle on the record, and let Jagged Little Pill transport you to a place of unfiltered emotion and musical brilliance.

Great Album, Superb Mastering
Well, most people know about the music on the album. It has also been the basis for a Broadway musical to be, which had a run short-circuited by COVID-19. But this is about this pressing on vinyl. The mastering is from 2012 by a master at LP mastering, the famous Bernie Grundman (You'll see BG in the dead wax next the label. CB, initials representing the also great, Chris Bellman, can also be found on many LPs. Both are part of the Bernie Grundman Studios in California). Bernie is, indeed, one of the best in the business. If you see his name on the back of an LP, or 'BG' in the dead wax area, be rest assured it's about as good as that album can get on vinyl. And when you see mastering engineers such as Bernie Grundman, Chris Bellman, Kevin Gray, George Marino (RIP), George Horn, and a few others, you know that they took advantage of the vinyl medium for sound that is often better than the same album on CD. There are other factors involved in just how great a vinyl record will sound, such as where it was pressed (Rainbo and United are not so good, whereas QRP, RTI, Optimal, and Pallas are some of the best ones). The better the pressing plant, the quieter the vinyl, the better the quality control, and the overall better the record will sound. Regarding Jagged Little Pill, this record sounds terrific. Images are big, fleshed out, and present. The music is presented pretty dynamically, with a very good, 3-dimensional soundstage. The better your turntable, cartridge, and the rest of the system, the more it will be able to mine out of any LP. But this is a pretty impressive sounding record. A downside on my copy (and individual copies can certainly vary, from the individual pressing to the actual stamper from which the copy was pressed, meaning an issue might be endemic to many copies, but not all of them) is that there's sort of vinyl whoosh sound slightly present. It's not audible during the songs, but between songs, it's somewhat audible. It's not enough to ruin the experience by any means, but some copies of an album I might buy are practically dead quiet between songs, others may have some vinyl whoosh. There were no repetitive ticks or pops present on my copy, but that's not to say it may not be present on another. But this is a really good SOUNDING record. And that's apart from the songs, which are, for the most part excellent. It's an excellent alt-pop record.

Well worth it!
This is an excellent album. I like it because it is a new sound and nearly every song is good. I like the lyrics; they are genuine. I like that the lyrics are printed on the inner sleeve. . The vinyl plays cleanly and smoothly and has great production sound.

Jagged Little Pill Certainly Deserves Its Reputation
I grew up on Alanis Morisette. I’d drive home from school, and we’d listen to Jagged Little Pill. To this day, I can sing every single song off this album, and I can also recollect many of the basslines and guitar parts. To put it plainly, I was scarred by Alanis. I hated her from middle school till just over a month ago. Then, I decided “What the hell, I’ll give Jagged Little Pill another shot.” How I appreciate my brilliant suggestions I make to myself. To put it plainly, Jagged Little Pill certainly deserves its reputation. It’s incredibly emotional, sharply written, jaded almost to the point of hilarity, and it kicked off a stupendous amount of cliché’s. Looking back, the album is just over the top with its presentation, with Alanis singing wildly and without much restraint or organization. That’s much to do with the charm of the album, however; it was Alanis before she got incredibly famous, when she was only expected to push around 100,000 copies. The most surprising part of the recording is how original the music is. The guitar’s are effects laden, and often playing, for the time period, rather technically, and often make the dark and depressing atmospheres of the best Alanis songs (in particular, Wake Up is heavily dependent on it’s musical backdrop). However, the bass playing on the album is in particularly quite good, if not spectacular. Done mostly by the legendary Flea, the basslines are often furiously played and are in addition some of the best of his career. You Oughta Know, arguably the most parodied song on the album, features one of the best basslines of the 90’s, period, and many other songs come close to matching that. What really makes or breaks the album, however, is how you cope with Alanis’s voice and singing style. Her voice is very high pitched, caustic, and well, unique. She goes through a large range here, from the quiet crooning seen on Perfect to the wailing on You Outha Know, to the womanly screaming on Ironic. She also regularly goes in and out of pitches and singing styles in the span of a secod, such as on All I Really Want, where the changes are so frequent she sometimes sounds like the female version of James Maynard Keenan. In fact, she might just be the female version of James Maynard Keenan. Just kidding. But seriously, this chick can sing. If you can accept her voice. It’s entirely too abrasive, and those who are used to more traditional female vocalists will likely be turned off. However, it’s also not that inaccessible; she’s so convicted, it’s easy to just relate to her. She can also sound quite sweet, as on Head Over Feet, where she goes on about a friend who becomes her lover. On that topic, the obvious attraction many people find to Alanis is her lyrical work. It’s not so much that’s eloquent, but moreso that it’s brutally honest most of the time, something that female songwriters couldn’t do in ‘95 if they wanted any sort of popularity. She tells what she feels, how she feels, and if there’s any reason for her to feel that way in every one of these songs, and it’s still refreshing to hear against some of the more generic female writers of our day, even if they have a more traditionally better voice. Oh, and for the record, I think she pulled a big one-up on everyone and made the song Ironic ironic so that it would be the ultimate irony song for getting irony wrong. Just for the record. It’s difficult to express why this had such a huge impact on the world upon its release. It’s got a take no prisoners attitude, a strong musical basis, an eclectic singer in Alanis, and lyrics that anyone (no, it’s not some man-hating or man-excluding album as its so touted to be) can relate to, and a sense of carelessness that you can get lost in. It’s one of the most varied pop/rock albums I own, and its also one of the most emotionally powerful to boot. Just, if you do end up liking it, don’t start including Head Over Feet on party mixes. People don’t like it very much if you do

INCREDIBLE WRITING, A LOT OF PAIN FROM THE PAST...
As I reflect on this time in my life when the album was written about what I was going through, it is amazing how well "God" put the writing together. The pain is there, but more importantly it is a reminder of good times that make the pain worthwhile! I was outed at 15 to a religous set of parents and things were shakey. My youth pastor was my best friend that I trusted more than anything and told me it would go no further. It's also amazing how it ties in with the "Evanescence" labeled albums that were left for me by someone who the person who stole it thought was dead and is not! The two of them tie in...one about the harm caused when the media sexually exploited me to re-image Madonna from when I was 5 as an update as a sexually active young person! "Evanescence" is about the harm I am being put through while they try to kill me because of their previous crime. Bring me to life was actually a plea to PUT THEM TO DEATH! Please pray for the country and especially more specifically for me as we are all being victimized but me at a much larger level by these people and the horrible hatred and harm, in incapeable hands that are not intelligent enough to raise a child let alone capeable of making sure the country is in good hands! We all have our reasons to be here, we all have a thing or two to learn, we all need something to cling to...hopefully we will cling to the right things! They have implanted deadly telepathic communication technology in me discussed in the song "This Grudge" on a later album that discusses them exploiting me from the age of 11. I am dying from crime and the government placed by these people are siding with the crime in over 300 contacts! Pray that on October 28th JUSTICE will finally start being served! I am going to local court to start my way to the federal government! GW Bush (genital warts), Condy looks like Rice (Condyloma is the medical term for Genital Warts) and my boyfriends Dick were removed from my butt when they implanted the technology, they raped me at 18 to devalidate the sexual exploitation of me at 11. During that procedure they had me raped again and tried giving me a deadly disease according to the reports, but failed! PRAY HARD THAT GOD WILL SAVE US FROM THE RELIGON AND THE HORRID PEOPLE IN IT AS A COUNTRY! PRAY THAT SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE WILL BE UPHELD AND THAT THESE HORRID PEOPLE KILLING IRAQI'S IN THE NAME OF RELIGON WILL BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE. GW Bush has admitted in the media (you can find it on youtube) that Iraq had NOTHING to do with 9-11 and that they have no weapons of mass destruction...however the group of religous crap trying to kill me do have a weapon of mass destruction etc! PRAY AS A NON-RELIGOUS PERSON THAT THE CREATOR OF THE WORLD WILL WAKE UP AND SAVE US!
