Invaluable When Road Testing
Most vehicles have the OBD port located just below the dash next to the drivers door. Most code readers have cords which ware too short to be hooked to the port, and out of the way when you road test. this extension cord allows you to take the cord down the left floor board, and behind the seat so It can be read when you road test a vehicle to see when it throws codes. I had a 2006 Silverado, which kept throwing the check engine light. five mechanics had been unable to tell me what the light meant. I reset all of the codes, and took it for a drive with a buddy watching the code reader. After about half an hour on the road, when running uphill with a trailer on, it threw a code. I looked it up on the internet, and it was a air sensor. We ran by NAPA on the way back to the house, and bought a ten dollar can of air sensor cleaner. We cleaned off the one sensor when we got home. Problem solved. And, I nw know which local mechanics to avoid, because they all wanted to instal a throttle body. Which would have solved the problem for just a few hundred dollars.

Cable goes left toward the door.
The cable goes to the left when plugged in, which is awkward as I need it to go toward the center console, not the driver door. Why on earth would they do that?!? Other than that, it works well with my scan tool. Lexus IS350 2007.

It looks like it will hold up to use; it functions with dash cam, length allows its use outside car
I like it because it does what I expect it to do, which is power a dash cam in case there is a need to bring it out of the car.

Works well but I really should have bought a shorter one
The cable works as designed but first ask yourself if you really need one this length. I bought the longest one for the money but have only ever needed one half its length. This is more of a recommendation than a review. It’s a cable and it works as you would expect a cable to work.
