What size (if any) schedule 40 pipe will fit into this?

This fitting is designed for 1.5 inch ID pipe (actually meaures about 1.560 ID). The pipe OD dimensions that I have and that fit inside this fitting range from 1.893 to 1.903 inches and vary slightly due to manufacturing methods and type of pipepipe. The ID of this fitting (OD of the pipe that fits into it) is in the 1.897 to 1.903 range which accepts pipe OD meauresments mentioned previously. This allows for a slightly tight fit and area for use of pipe cement.
