My boys love mine craft and everything about it. They are always trying to figure out how to make new ands a new things. Now that I have this 20 week and 60 hour course they will have all the resources they need to make all the fun things they can dream up. They are totally engaged and captivated learning how to use Eclipse and Java while mastering the coolest tricks of coding. They ask for more computer time just because they are so interested in it and want to continue to learn more. They enjoy learning the concepts like Booleans and If Statements to name a few now I have very little experience in what these things do but they have showed and explained it to me in detail and really understood what they were learning so that is a plus in my book.They are gaining great skills and enjoying it while they are doing it. They plan to be computer programmers when they are older and this coding is the first step. They are building different farming skills by harvesting new superfruit, creating custom items, blocks, tools, plants, and new brewing and smelting recipes. It did require them to have this rown mine raft on the computer but that was something we already had for some time so no extra things needed to buy or install other then the course itself. They get a nice little USB stick containing instructions and a unique code to access your online TechTrep course and they can use it for one year which is plenty of time to learn and fine tune the new skills they are developing. The opportunities to the future is endless for them with these valuable skills they are gaining while playing games that they enjoy doing anyway. I am so pleased with this course I may need to take it self when they have finished so I can catch up to them.I purchased this product for a reduced price to make an honest and unbiased review

A few days after buying the course we received a small package in the mail with a usb stick along with all the info we needed to get started. I sat next to my 12 year old sister and she was able to figure it out all on her own. You just go to the website it gives you and put in the unique username and password that was sent with the USB stick.It starts off with a slideshow tutorial explaining what to expect from the course and what was needed for the course. For this Minecraft modding course you’ll need to buy/download Minecraft on your own. This won’t work with Minecraft apps (like for the iPad)…it will only work with the computer version of Minecraft. She already plays Minecraft so she knows the basics, but if you’re new to Minecraft the course will give you an intro to the basics if needed. She used her Macbook and everything ran perfectly.After the course intro there is a video tutorial on how to install the modding software. It took about 20 minutes to download, but of course it depends on how fast your internet is. It follows up with another video tutorial on how to use the software. The videos are easy to follow. She said it reminded her of a well done YouTube video tutorial.She’s worked through a few of the tutorials and is really excited about this course. It’s supposed to teach you how to make your own mods which is a way to add more items and fun extras to the game that you would not get in "vanilla" Minecraft (her words, not mine…she's the Minecraft expert). She says that everything is explained really well. She never feels lost since everything is explained so clearly. This course makes learning about coding fun…especially since she’s a huge Minecraft fan. She personally gives this Minecraft modding course 5/5 stars. Since she loves it and she’s learning I agree!
