Works like a charm and very useful for remote flash and modeling light control
These are great remote to control the Elinchrom light set up so that I don't have to get up and lost my angle in the middle of shooting just to adjust the flash ppwer bursts or modeling light brightness.Very well built and easy control buttons to navigate.

Amazing
This new system is wonderful and even better than its predecessor. I never used the PWs before but I can tell you that this product gets the job done. I ran a few test: the first one I placed the flash in my backyard and fired from my bedroom, doors closed, with no problem. The second test: still outdoor i probably went about 350-400 feet down the street, the flash fired. I also tried to fire the flash from behind a fence at about 300 feet and It worked!. The range on these things is pretty powerful. Both transmitter and receiver are lightweight and well made. The antenna is a little flimsy but they do come with their own case, so they will not get damaged. Buttons are easily accessible except for the channel switches. They are really tiny and you might need a pin to move them (I actually manage to do it with my fingernails). Inside the box you will find receiver, transmitter and various sync chords. Please note that if you are planning to put them to work right away (with your SB-900 or SB-600), you will need an extra PC-sync to mini-jack cable, and for the sb-600 a hotshoe adapter. The other positive thing is that the AC adapter comes with 3 different sockets....the american, the european, and I believe the last one is for the UK. If you travel a lot, like I do, this is a nice add-on. Battery included as well for the transmitter (the receiver has a rechargeable battery in it).PROSLightweightCheaper than PWslots of accessories/cables includedeasy to set upsync up to 1/250 (tried with D700)universal (works for both Canon and Nikon)CONSflimsy antennaPWs have more range (but are you really gonna use your flash from 4 blocks away?)the cable you might need the most is not included

great for the money
At first I was reading reviews that this has a low battery life. I haven't had any problems with it really especially for the money. You need to make sure that the correct wire adapter is there otherwise you'll have to order the correct one somewhere else. I have a 580ex and had to order an extra cable that cost $15. A bit a pain since I thought the cable would be compatible with my camera. Other than that, when I took it out of the box, I charged the reciever for a day and I hooked it up to my camera and match the channels and hit the test button. And it worked like a champ. I am very happy with it so far.

If you have an Elinchrom RX head, you need this...
The Skyport system is simple and works well. The RX style heads (as well as the Ranger RX) can all be triggered manually or via flash, but the best is simply using the Skyport adapter. What's nice is that you can also control the output level with the Elinchrom EL 19350 Skyport Speed Transmitter

Well Worth It
I've been using this system for a while now and it's reliable, easy, and efficient. The range is quite good. I often use it with a soft box with my assistant holding the box on the subject hundreds of feet away for long zoom effect. I never feel like it might let me down.Solid and simple and well worth the price.
