Hoagy Carmichael – Huggin' And Chalkin' Review: Still good songs - I bought several of the "Your Hit Parade" CDs for my dad, who liked to listen to the songs on them in the 40s and 50s on the radio. I don't know much of the music of the period, but they seem a good representation of the hit songs of each year. I remember hearing several of the songs as old favorites when I was growing up in the 60s. I ended up buying one CD for myself. Review: A terrific blend of music - A terrific blend of music. I grew up in a home where music was a constant presence. All songs were familiar and brought back many childhood memories. This music is from the era when singers sang and one could understand the words. Loved this!

Jack Spicer review
The songs are great, but the sound quality on half of the cuts is very edgy and hard to listen to. It seems that no effort was made to process the originals. A disclosure is printed on the back of the disc referring to this. So if you are fussy about sound you may be disappointed. I recently purchased Hit Parade 1946 (a different series) released in 2007 and it has the word, 'Dynamic' printed on the disc and it is a much smoother sound. I hope that this information is helpful to you.
