Works great, takes up little counter space
This coffee maker is very easy to use and is amazingly small for a device that works so well. After removing from the box and placing it on my counter I ran four or five cycles of a vinegar/water mix through the unit to ensure it was cleaned of any manufacturing oils etc. After that I ran a few pure water cycles to remove any vinegar that might have remained and then inserted a coffee pod and made my first cup of coffee. It tasted wonderful and was everything I was hoping for. This coffee maker does not have a chamber for holding water so you must add water every time you use it to make a cup of coffee. This is quite easy to do as you simply lift the lid and pour the water in the top, place a cup or mug under the spout and press start. The instructions make it clear to only add 10 ounces of water but there is no need to measure as 10 ounces of water is all it will hold. So I simply fill the coffee maker to the top of the filter and its ready to go. Not having a tank to store water is a GOOD THING. I am ashamed to admit but recently when my K-Cup type of coffee maker stopped working and being a tinkerer I thought I'd open it up to see what ticks. To my surprise the water chamber was full of the most UNPLEASANT SLIME I have ever seen and I am amazed that it hadn't made me sick. From this experience I am sold on single use coffee makers such as this Mixpresso. In the past with all types of coffee makers I would run a couple of the vinegar/water cycles to ensure nothing bad is accumulating inside the coffee maker. But that hadn't worked with my K-Cup unit. With the Mixpresso not having a water chamber I have the assurance that the inside of the unit is staying clean and safe. The coffee will probably taste better as well. One last thing, as ten ounces of coffee does not seem like a lot, after making the first ten ounces of coffee I add about half that amount and run another cycle. This just about fills my coffee mug to the brim and I find the flavor excellent. I would definitely purchase this coffee maker again and most certainly would recommend it to a friend. And yes, I am loving my new-found counter space!

Great coffeemaker and compact too!
Second Update: who has time to update a review twice? Well I am just relaxing with a cup of coffee made in this brewer which is still working great after almost 3 years of daily use. I am thinking of ordering another one to keep as a spare in case the first one dies but it's still working like new. I am very pleased with this little machine. So compact and easy to use.Update: Used this coffeemaker every day for almost a year now. It's compact so we brought it on vacation also. Still EXTREMELY pleased with it. Works perfectly, never malfunctions and brews a great hot cup of coffee. We use Peet's Major Dickason blend with about 9oz. of water - excellent dark strong euro flavor.Bought this coffeemaker so my wife could make a single cup of coffee in the afternoons or evenings without having to make a larger pot with our regular coffeemaker. Wanted something compact to hide in kitchen cabinet or at least not take up much space on counter top. It does a great job, and she can pick from dozens of types and flavors. Works with any brand Kcup I think (she has used 3 different brands so far). It makes great tasting coffee, quite hot, and you can use any size cup or mug you want. A typical coffee mug holds about 10-12 ounces and is perfect size for this machine. You could easily fit a larger mug up to about 16 ounces. You simply pour a mugful of water into the top of the machine, drop in a Kcup, close the lid, place the mug in the machine and press the start button. The water heats up, the machine pumps it through the Kcup and into your mug, then shuts itself completely off. Total time about 3 minutes. So far very pleased. Hope it keeps working for years.

Surprisingly good inexpensive K-cup brewer - great 'satellite' for a big espresso machine
My primary coffeemaker is a $1000+ fully-automatic Jura-Capresso espresso machine, which just makes the absolute best espresso coffees from fresh-ground whole beans and high-pressure steam. So why would I want a super-inexpensive K-cup machine like this?Several reasons. Topmost is variety: as awesome as the Jura-Capresso is, it's only really good for one kind of bean at a time, because you can't really swap out whatever beans you have loaded in the bin. Sure you could grind beans separately and manually load the grounds into the top chute, but for just an occasional decaf or flavored coffee, it's hard to beat the convenience and varity of K-cups. Plus, you can even get non-coffee drinks like teas and apple ciders in K-cups now.Another reason to like this unit is speed. While a full-auto espresso machine takes a lot of the work out of making a latte, you still need to froth the milk, then make a couple of espresso shots. With this little beauty you just fill the tank, pop in a pod, press the button, and wait a couple minutes. After you press that button, you can be doing something else, unlike with the espresso machine where you have to stand there and tend to it.Another reason is guests. They want coffee, but may not want to learn how to operate the espresso machine. But everybody knows how to make a K-cup! Doesn't get much simpler. The espresso machine is still my primary source of coffee, but it's pretty big - bigger than a car battery. So this unit is a perfect little satellite coffee machine that gives me a K-cup option without taking up nearly any countertop real estate.Yeah, I've got a few gripes. This thing is geared to make 12 oz of coffee into a 12 oz mug and that's about it (OK, so just make two cups of coffee then). Also, the temperature is just barely high enough for a good coffee and it could be hotter. But you know what? It's a lot easier to accept these kinds of limitations when you didn't even spend $40 on your 'satellite' coffeemaker! One final piece of advice I haven't seen anyone else mention: If you don't want the heating element to build up with mineral deposits and require occasional de-scaling, do the same thing I do with my espresso machine and use only distilled water. All the flavor comes from your coffee grind anyway, but distilled water is so pure it leaves no scale.

Good customer service, terrible product
I purchased this coffee maker on a great sale last year, because I thought my Keurig might be going. It swt in the closet in the box for about 6 months, and finally my Keurig completely kicked the bucket. We plugged this bad boy in, and at first it worked really well, then about 2 months after we had plugged it in, it started just putting out steam, and you could hear it revving up, and you can see steam billowing out everywhere, and you would only get about a half a cup of coffee when all was said and done. Then it started melting all of the coffee pods, so that they were about half the size that they were when they went into the machine. I assumed that I had gotten a defective one, and contacted the company. Great customer service! They were kind, generous, and they lived by their product, even though it had been about 8 months since I purchased it at this point. They sent me a replacement, after receiving my photo verifying that I had cut the cord on the broken one. We set up the new one that they sent us, and literally within the same exact time frame, it started doing the exact same thing that the last one was doing, just blowing out steam, only giving you about a half a cup of coffee, and taking about 10 minutes to brew that cup of coffee. At that point, I went back to my regular pot for now, and I'm waiting for a different machine that I have ordered. Definitely would not recommend this maker. The company is great. But the coffee maker is not.I have owned two keurigs in the last 14 years. The first one lasted for roughly 8 years, and the second one for roughly 6 years. I do have a lot of people making coffee in my house, as three of my six children drink coffee, as do my husband and myself. So I would expect a machine to go a little bit faster in our house, with the extra use, but 2 months is ridiculous.

Excellent!
Excellent product at a reasonable price! I am very happy the quality and the performance. It exceeded my expectations to this tiny machine. I would definitely recommend to others to buy it.

Tricky to use
I like to use my own coffee and I found out that when using the basket for the coffee grounds it kind of explodes at the end of brewing leaving some of the coffee grounds in your coffee cup. In order to avoid that you have to use Keurig cups or put very little coffee into the basket which will give you a water down coffee.

Love this coffee maker!
Love this little Mixpresso maker! I have two of them, one in my home and one in vacation home and they work so well….coffee is as good as any coffee maker I’ve owned, and at this price…imo it’s a great deal!

Cute! And functional!
Like other reviewer‘s, this little machine is very small and compact. It takes up so little counter top real estate, and that’s one of the reasons I adore it.Super easy to use and it puts out a mighty hot cup of coffee. I drink my coffee, black and I am notorious for liking very, very hot coffee and this little guy does the trick. The one thing I will warn you about and again other, Amazon reviewer‘s had said this, to cycle about three or 4 cups of water before you use it. When I put the 1st cup of water in without any coffee, the water came out fine meaning there was no chemical or plastic smell but regardless, I cycled in about three or 4 cups of water before I made my 1st cup of coffee. The only drawback and it’s really not a drawback is because it’s so small it is very light. So if you have a crazy cat that likes to run on countertops, this could easily be pushed right off. Or if you accidentally hit it while you were there to cleaning your countertops, this thing would move very easily. I strategically put it between two other appliances and that’s how I’m getting away or around this little issue. But overall winner, especially at this price!

Small Footprint
This is a great alternative to the main brand single cup coffee maker. It is sturdy, well designed and makes a great cup of coffee. It is more compact than most machines, therefore, takes up less room on your counter. Still does the job though. Actually, it's easier than my last machine. One less button to push. Just as fast to brew. The true test will be its longevity. My last main brand machine lasted 2 1/2 years of heavy use (4-5 cups a day). With proper cleaning, I have a feeling this one will equal if not surpass that mark. Oh, should mention too.....it costs half the price!!
