Sturdy and Reliable
I've found overalls to be the perfect garment for working around the house and garden. They have lots of pockets for stashing the various tools that might be needed for a job, I don't have to worry about getting muddy or dirty, I never have to hike up trousers that have slipped down from the waist (no plumber's butt showing), and overalls are by far the most comfortable and roomy garment I have found when having to crouch, kneel or stretch while working. At the end of the day they just get tossed into the washer, and they're ready for the next day's tasks and activities. I particularly like these Red Kap overalls for several reasons. They are made of really sturdy denim, the bib pocket with its snap closure provides an easily accessible but really secure and protected place to carry my smart phone, they are one of the two brands (Round House is the other) that I know of with a button fly, which I much prefer, and they are made in the U.S.A. Great quality at an excellent price! Here's a tip on sizing: Don't think in terms of waist size, think about your jacket or suit size. I have a size 39 waist, but I wear a size 46 jacket. Because I prefer my overalls on the roomy side, I order a size 48 overall, which turns out to fit me just the way I like them. If I ordered my waist size, they'd be way too snug.

When Barney says "Suit up!", THIS is what I have in mind on the ranch...
I'm so pleased with these. I hadn't worn overalls since I was a kid, maybe that's why I avoided them: They seemed childlike? Whatever! I'm over that now! I can't tell you how many sets of workclothes AND my nicer clothes that I've gone thru that I could have protected better with a good set of overalls like these in the past. It's like a shop apron with chaps attached. Extra protection for the legs and torso. It's already saved a couple of pairs of pants and shirts that I had the foresight to cover up with these overalls. And the comfort level in them is surprising: In cold weather, it's additional layering. Come this summer, I think I might actually dare to wear these with just my skivvies and a t-shirt, to keep cool: The air flow and roominess seem like these might be just the thing to go repairing the fenceline this summer. Barbed wire hasn't managed to snag it yet, and the denim seems just as tough if not tougher than my jeans and canvas pants. There is ONE downside, but it's so minor, I would say it's only a fractional deduction to consider: I don't like the bib clasps. The riveted button is fine, but the wire loop to attach just doesn't have as secure a grip as I'd like for it to have. I like the concept of the clasp (I think it's called a "frog" closure?), but the design needs a little more grip to it to make me happy. Maybe it's just this one set I bought. In any case, it isn't enough to stop me from buying these again. I'll be ordering another 2 sets soon, so I can cycle between sets while washing the others. For my needs, these are ideal workclothes, and Red Kap doesn't make you break the bank to buy them. They'll put you to work and keep you on budget. 5 stars, Red Kap.

Red Kap is good, But
I got these Red Kap brand overalls, and indeed they are durable; however, they have a button fly, and the button holes are too big and the buttons release when you sit down. I had to hand-stitch the button holes to a smaller size to correct the problem.

One of Top Two or Three Brands of Bib Overalls Available
Like good whiskey, bib overalls might be considered by some to be an "acquired taste". Maybe they're a bit old-fashioned, but I have come to love them for working on projects around the house and yard work. They are super comfortable - even for just lounging around the house watching TV. Wearing bib-overalls means no longer having to hike up your dungarees when you bend over and stand back up, and the back of your shirt has extra protection if you are lying on your back working on the underside of a car. There are a couple of specific features of the Red Kap Denim Bib Overalls that place them at the top of my list: 1) Button-fly: From my research, a button-fly is ONLY available on Red Kap and Round House bib overalls (please correct me if there is another). I recently bought Liberty and Big Smith brand overalls and returned both because I did not care for the zipper fly. But, hey, I still drive a full-size pickup truck with a 5-speed manual transmission, if that is any indication of my willingness to do a little extra work. 2) Lightweight Denim: I've only had them for a couple of weeks so far, but denim is sturdy without being overly heavy. I love the products that other makers like Carhartt produce, but sometimes less is more. 3) Captive Pocket: There is a certain beauty of simplicity in the Red Kap Bib Overalls single captive flap pocket. It is more than adequately sized for a cell phone, grocery list, wallet, or other flat items. Plus, there is a stall for a pen / pencil and a watch pocket in the bib if you still carry a pocket watch or fob watch. Yes, there are plenty of other manufacturers that have multiple pockets on the bib, but I found that I am not realistically going to be carrying a ratchet wrench and full set of sockets in the bib of my overalls. 4) Tool Pockets & Hammer Loop: These are pretty standard features on most all bib overalls and carpenter dungarees, and they are present, too, on the Red Kap Denim Bib Overalls. A note on sizing - if you've never owned / worn a pair of bib overalls, order the waist size two sizes (4") larger and the inseam one size (2") smaller than your normal dungarees / jeans. I normally wear 36"x32", but found the perfect fit with 40"x"30" in the Red Kap Denim Bib Overalls.

A lot of the corner seams needed work
The bibs are pretty decent, overall. Not excellent but not bad. The corners where the side buttons are needed attention immediately after receiving which was somewhat annoying to do before even putting them on. Depending on the brand I'm normally a 32 or 34 waist (I measure 33 inch); in red kap I'm a 34 waist. 32 is what I ordered, it fits but it's a little snug on top, plenty of leg room. The crotch is a little high but it only has effect when sitting for long periods of time, so that's not bad. Pockets are decent in both placement and size. Overall not bad, if consider ordering them again.

impressed
I am considered a big boy at 6' x 2" and 350 lbs. And to honest here . . . I do not. These fit great and they do not bind up in places to cause limited movement. I bought a pair of Carhart one time and they split on me the first time I tried them on. I have faith it was the pair I had and not the manufacturing of them so do not go on my experience here. These are a good investment so far, but I wish they came in canvas Orange, but that is me here.

Very poor quality
Very poor quality. I bought 2 pair. Ripped the crotch out of the first pair in just a couple of weeks, very thin material compared to name brands. The second pair had several buttons fall off in the front then one of the shoulder straps. The other main issue that I had was the shoulder strap wire does not snap around the button so as I would work the straps kept coming loose. Don't waste your money, spend a little more for coveralls that will last years instead of months.

100% cotton - they shrink!
Female, 5'10, 175-ish, normally a pant size 12L. Bought 38w x 32l. Turned out to be too short - will order 38x34 next time. Alarmingly huge right out of the package, but I saw 100% cotton on the lable and decided to wash and see what happens. They shrunk down to be just right in the hips, but too short in the legs. Oh well - it's a good pair to garden in. Great quality - my dad wore these for decades as his daily "uniform" and they wear like iron. Still stiff as a board after the first wash but should soften over time.

Tolle Latzhose

Fabulous dungrees.
Almost perfect I've given 4 stars, however they are more like 4 and a half stars, if i could change anything the trousers are far too wide, I understand the trousers are boot cut, but cricky do they have to be that wide, other dungarees I've got the shoulder straps fall of, I've worn these all week, they have stayed on perfectly, I love the chest pocket my phone fits in there nicely, I do love the deep pockets. Overall I'd say the price is just about right for what they are. Righto off to order another pair. Edit, I've had my pair cropped, I love them like this for the warmer weather, I would love Amazon to stock them as a cropped version.
