Service Technician Broke My Laptop - Assurant Does Nothing to Remedy
Sent in my laptop for a faulty power jack. It took about ten days plus shipping, so not great but nothing too extreme.Got it back yesterday and the power jack seems to work... but the screen won't come on.Contacted Assurant to express our displeasure at them breaking my laptop and to see if there was someone local that they work with whom we could bring the laptop to in order to fix the damage done by their service technician.Assurant offered a cheap apology but then explained that they only use that service provider and we would have to once again wait for them to send us a shipping container, send in the computer to the SAME TECHNICIAN who broke it, and then wait for it to ship back to us.We asked if they could at least offer expedited shipping, see as how they... you know... broke my computer. Of course, they said they could not.So, to fix the power jack - a repair that should take about two hours - I will be without my laptop for a MONTH.So, Amazon, if you are reading this, I sincerely hope you will consider looking elsewhere for your warranty providers. Until you do, I will be purchasing my electronics through Best Buy and suggesting all of my friends do the same.

TLDR: probably worth it but... no communication, poor service, long turn around, may simply refund if that works better for them.You won't stop sending me emails to leave a review so here we go. First off having an extended warranty or protection plan is always a good idea especially if you are accident prone like I am and I am grateful of course that I had it. However, they took my laptop and had it for awhile before someone contacted me and told me that they could fix it but that they ordered a part that would take like two months to come in. No. One. Can. Afford. To. Be. Without. Their. Personal. Computer. That. Long. I'm a student and I live in a rural area so it's not like I could just hop on down to the library to do my homework. They left a message telling me to call back if that was too much time, which of course I did. I didn't get any responses from them after having called them several times over a span of a couple weeks. And then without actually getting any response from them over the phone, all of a sudden I had an email telling me that my laptop had been refunded. Not that this is their fault, but your dollar doesn't stretch as far as it did a few years ago and I had to sacrifice a few things when purchasing a new laptop. If I didn't know that my laptop was perfectly fixable I would understand and just deal with it, but it really grinds my gears to know that my laptop was fixable and they just decided it wasn't worth it for them and so now I'm stuck with an inferior piece of equipment. (Every time I notice a performance difference I swear inside and out loud). I also sent along a laptop charger because they ask for one, it was a charger that I paid for separately and I know there's absolutely no point in calling them and saying 'Hey I want my charger back' you know...
