D-Link DAP-1530-US, WiFi Range Extender, AC750 Mesh Plug in Wall Signal Booster, Dual Band Wireless Repeater Access Point for Smart Home

Bought because my security cameras needed to be plugged in to my router which is in another room. I bought this brand because I have one of their cameras which has been a really good one and I’ve had it awhile, there are so many of these it’s hard to figure out which one would be the best. Seems to be working fine I can now view my cameras online. So I am happy with my purchase. Also It was super easy to set up.

Already had two older versions of this, which I WAS going to buy first, but Amazon said HEY THIS IS THE NEW ONE! So I bought the two-pack expecting to increase the coverage of my wifi. Alas, the wifi actually DOES NOT EVEN CONNECT in some cases. In my best French accent, “gar-baj”

Very easy set up. Great directions and follow up. My wireless provider slows down the internet speed after the allotted (unlimited) gigs, much to my dismay. D-Link solved that problem, much to my delight.

This took sometime to get to work as the instructions are not very good but I finally got it setup and it really produces a somewhat decent signal signal. It was fairly difficult to setup as this was my first time with this kind of device. I had to view some video and such to get this thing to work properly but regardless of that it does work decently. If you have experience with setting up routers and such, this product will definitely be easy to use. It does a decent job with giving you a stronger signal in dead parts of your home. For me, the signal became stronger in the dead part of my home. I no longer had to really worry about having no signal. This device can push your signal several feet. The down side of this device is that the antenna is not very strong. My dog nearly broke the thing thinking it was a toy. That being said, if you happen to have pets then you should probably keep this in a place they may have a hard time reaching. You can point the antenna in any direction you want as well for a better signal but I found it did not exactly matter. I normally have to sit pretty much in certain spots downstairs to get a single but I no longer have that problem. I tried it other rooms as well with this device and it works pretty well there too, but I would say do not put this directly in the dead zone if you have one as it will not pick up the signal. It does have an ethernet port which I assume if you want to plug directly into it to setup that will work but you can access it wirelessly if you do not have an Ethernet on your laptop but I found it easier to just plug directly into the device. If you are thinking about plugging directly into this to use an direct access point (probably wrong word), it does not get an extra speed boost I found as it is not a powerline adapter. The overall design makes it nice to have for plugging into the wall and it does not take up most of the wall outlet so if you want to plug something in to the other outlet, you have that option. The antenna is the problem I found as it is a bit weak and easy to break so be careful not to hit it. Overall I think this product is not D-Links best but works decently. I found D-link to be good but the material and build of their devices tend to be a bit on the cheap side. It does a decent job with giving me a stronger signal but the instructions need to be better.

I paid for a new item and received an item that was apparently a return. When I went to manually configure the item a "default" dlink-F418 network was not a choice in the 2.4 or 5G networks as the setup card specified. A ssid that I didn't recognize with an "EXT" extension was visible. Could not login with the device password. Only after I did a device reset did the default network dlink-F418 show up and password work. Obviously it was a returned used item. The box the extender came looked like it seen better days. The item itself works fine
