After reading the reviews, I was on the fence as to whether or not to purchase this turntable. I liked that it came with speakers but wasn't sure about the quality. (I thought that if the speakers were horrible, then I'd have to purchase new speakers anyway, so why not buy an Audio Technica?) However, I'm glad I bought the Ion Audio Max. First, the wood finish is beautiful and the unit is not too bulky. It was easy to find a place for it in my home. Second, this is the best unit I've found that can play records out of the box. The other reviewers were right that the speakers are not the best quality (they are good but not "blow your socks off" great), but I found that I can easily plug in my computer speakers to the unit. This made it relatively cheap to improve the sound quality. I have a Bose set Companion®2 Series III Multimedia Speaker System , which are awesome. Overall, I am very glad I bought this turntable. I get many compliments from visiting friends. It didn't break the bank, is lovely, and does the job well.

After reading a bunch of reviews I finally pulled the trigger and bought this unit. Super happy I didn’t listen to the negative reviews. I have records I haven’t listened too in over 30 years that this unit plays flawlessly. The speakers that come with it are small so the sound is what you’d expect. If you want more, just buy external speakers like you’d have to do for any other unit. This unit is pretty rock and roll, I’m not sure what all the negative reviews are from. I guess hipsters that thought they’d get better than digital quality music from a record player. If you’re looking for a cheap record player that can do it all this is it! Rock on 🤘🏼✌🏼

Picked this up two years ago as a gift for my Father in law who had a set of old LPs. He was very surprised and immediately got down to using it. The quality of the product is good and with the option of connecting it to an amplifier ensures that you enjoy the old classics with high quality sound. Now don't expect that your LPs will suddenly sound like the latest CDs since you are in effect still playing your old LPs. But you get to play those classics thanks to this Turntable.
