Excellent Tripod
An excellent tripod! I have had several and this one is the best. Lightweight, but sturdy and stable. Great height range and easy adjustment. Swiss-Arca head with included 1/4" stud adapter means I can mount any item I need on it. I bought it to hold a relatively heavy spotting scope, but it also works great on smaller/lighter items. It works like a dream.

The Vortex High Country 2 tripod is a great choice!
For the money, the Vortex High Country 2 has a lot of great features. The legs are easily configured to meet the requirements of the terrain and the person, whether standing or sitting. Ideal maximum height for the person standing to use this tripod is probably 6’2” and still be comfortable. If you are taller, the Vortex Radian Carbon is a better choice. The Vortex Radian Carbon does not have a center elevating post used to get its height. The center elevation post can be removed if needed based on how a person configured the High Country 2 tripod. Well made and designed to be stable. If you are wanting a tripod with a lot of features without breaking the bank, the Vortex High Country 2 is a great choice. If you have the disposable income, the Vortex Radian Carbon is the one to go with.

Great but be aware of locking adjustment
It is very high quality used with my spotting scope for a while now it does a great job. just be aware it doesn't lock at the horizontal and vertical adjustment at the same time vertical is first to lock then horizontal!

Medium weight- perfect for birdwatching
A MEDIUM weight tripod- great when hiking such as bird watching. It does have a hook go add weight such as your backpack but have not needed it yet. Easy enough to deploy, light enough to carry: usually with the scope attached and over the shoulder.

The only thing that would make this tripod better for me would be to put height measurements on at least one level of the telescoping legs. This way I could lower or raise on flat surface to exact height on each leg and know I’d have the stability this offers. Locking mechanism could be a little longer, but I’m used to it and use this with my spotting scope all the time. Well done!

Solid Tripod with nothing you don't need.
Bought this to take hunting for glassing for game. As I wanted a tripod that would support my large Redfield scope and this one works fine. Yes, it's a bit heavy but so is my scope. The plate fits solidly on top and you can purchase spares for any other things you use a tripod for. The head swivels well and is damped to prevent flopping around with a heavy item on top. Would have been nicer with at least one foam covered top section for carrying over your shoulder but I've adapted. The leg sections use a clip which is preferred over the twist locks. Easily extends out and the center post also adds enough length to get your optic up at eye level for my height (5'8"), even taller people will be able to extend it to the full size to 62.5". I prefer this one over the Optics Pro GT (which may be discontinued) since it's more suitable for photo use as the head tilts over to the side and it's a bit heavier.
