Isn't easy on your electric bill but cools fast!
Three stars because it DRASTICALLY increased our energy bill. The month before we used this air conditioner our energy bill was $19. The month that we used this air conditioner, not everyday and never at night, was $122. That's a 500% increase. It cools down our living room immensely in just about an hour. Granted we live in Santa Monica, Our apartment is placed juuuuuussst right to where not a single breeze makes it into our apartment. We also live on the second/top floor of a 1940's 8-plex. And it's SE facing! So when temps get hot we get annihilated by the sun and the heat. We're talking easily 20° hotter inside than outside come sunrise. We originally had a small window unit that didn't do squat for our small 250 sqft our living room is so we bought this and so far so good. And it's so nice to be able to shut your windows when it's summer and everybody lives their days and nights outside.

Didn't work for more than an hour
This broke without less than an hour of use (mainly testing before I installed the hoses in a window). Once installed, it broke. But it didn't just break, it kept running and sucking up too much electricity until it flipped the circuit breaker to the house. I put it on a watt meter and watched it turn on. it started by drawing an acceptable 1400 watts. Then after about 2 minutes, it climbed to 1600 watts. Soon after it tripped the house circuit breaker. This happened consistently. I live in Portland, Oregon, so i really only need this for 2 weeks out of the year. But when i needed it and turned it on, it was REALLY disappointing that it didn't work. In case it was breaking because of high neighborhood energy draw due to the heat, i waited until midnight and tried it again. Still overloaded my house wires.

Works OK
It serves its purpose, but really does not cool like a 14K BTU unit. Would say it is closed to 10-12K.

Circuit Killer
worked great for about 1 season, then the vent hoses got brittle and cracked, and now it won't run 2 minutes without tripping a 15 amp breaker.

usually my upstairs would be blazing but this unit kept it a comfortable 72-73 degrees
I researched portable A/C units for quite awhile before deciding to purchase this one. My upstairs has a tendency of holding in hot/humid air so I purchased this and installation was a breeze, just needed to purchase more foam tape to secure the sides. Yesterday it reached 90 degrees here with about 50% humidity, usually my upstairs would be blazing but this unit kept it a comfortable 72-73 degrees.Update: I've now went through multiple 90-100 degree days in a row here in the midwest with this unit and it hasn't gotten above 74 degrees in my house. Everyone that comes over says how much they love it and even my mom is looking to buy one. Keep in mind that this unit self evaporates the water, there is no need to empty the unit every few hours. One thing I wish it would do is turn itself off after it reaches a certain temp, it currently shuts the compressor off but still blows like a fan. Would be a good feature to include in the future.

Wonderful little a/c
Has been a wonderful little a/c for the computer room during the Las Vegas heat wave! Our computers were overheating this Summer, and the regular a/c just wasn't cutting it for the computer room. This was easy to install, and keeps the room cooler than the rest of the house, so I don't have to worry about all the electronics burning out from the heat.

Love it!
Works great. I'm Having a few central ac issues in a older mobile home. This and an older small window unit are helping keep me cool in 95 degree south Alabama weather. Got it unboxed and up and running in about 45 minutes. The window kit was a little aggravating but finally got everything connected correctly. Not very loud at all. Sofar very impressed.
