This made it easier for me to reach the height of tall trees and place my rope where I wanted it. I failed miserably using manual technique. But this gave me the accuracy and placement of rope that I want. I even used this to help pull down my climbing left stucked in the tree because of friction. I am able to use my throwline to unwind the rope around several redirection and friction points in the tree trunk. A very useful tool and regretted why I did not have it before.

This sling shot worked great for putting a line into a tree. I used 8oz lead bags to shoot about 70 ft with ease. Though you do have to pull down with both hands and aim for that height, also use gloves.

Worked good for me after using it a few times. Very accurate as long as you pull it as far back as you can get it.

I'd seen ads for the "Big Shot" line throwing system. It looked ideal for hanging dipole antennas high into trees when operating ham radio in the field. It is. The unit breaks down into two 4' length of fiberglass poles, so it is easy to transport. With a weighted bag, also sold by the company, and special throw line that is tightly woven and slick, you can send a supporting line high up into a tree's branches. The special throw line won't catch on rough bark like we have here in Texas. It still takes me a couple of tries to get the line over the right place, but the Big Shot lets you fire away with greater accuracy than throwing a weighted line by hand. I love it.

It took a little practice but it definitely gets my rope in the tree. It does take a few tries aiming for the same spot. It's friggin' EXCELLENT for doggy tennis balls!! The customer service was great as well. I noticed the rubber part was cracked after three tries. They didn't have a rubber sling part in stock for another couple months but allowed me to buy my own and reimbursed me.

Bigshot used in production arboriculture. Works as advertised. This is a great timesaver/laborsaver.I would advise caution when transporting/storing the head. Do your best to preserve the integrity of the rubber bands.Also, just my 5 cents, when lining up your shot, line up the poles and only draw the bigshot back for a minimal time period. It seems that holding it back decreases the potential energy of the shot. (less height, or missed shot) I don't use the trigger accessory for the aforementioned concern.

The ease of use an accuracy is second to none. The only reason I gave 3 stars overall everytime I pick it up I'm pick fiberglass splinters out of my hand.
