A: Hat sizes are a bit of a nightmare, me 6 7/8 what ever that means BUT get your a hat a bit to big rather than small. Hats can shrink when wet but you can get a larger one to pass the wind test by stuffing folded paper between the brim and the cloth liner. It’s invisible and adjustable, believe me I must have dozens of them winter and summer UK and North Africa.
