Plug’n play, just what I needed
Using an HP mini PC (ProDesk 600 G4) with the optional HDMI daughterboard installed/Windows 11 Pro and an LG OLED C2 TV. Bought a good 4K HDMI cable and hooked it all up expecting to set the resolution and enable HDR without issue. Got the opposite with washed out picture in RGB and no screen displayed in chroma sub samplings 4:4:4 or 4:2:0 at 10 bit depth. It occurs to me the display port may be better equipped to get me where I want to go. Quick bit of research tells me I need an active DP to HDMI adapter. Look at a cheaper unit, find a review saying save the headache and get the Startech version.I do, it arrives and I plug it in using same HDMI cable. Now when windows loads instead of the TV not detecting input I’m on the sign in screen. TV flashes HDR content mode is active and resolution is 3840x2160 (broadcast 4K is max resolution A/P description) all windows HDR modes enabled and refresh 59.9Hz (60Hz can be selected but results in black bars on the sides of the image). Intel GPU only allows RGB 8 bit colour depth with dithering when using DP/adapter BUT do a web search and see how many report it working as well or better than 10 bit 4:4:4 (in terms of banding among other things/may not even be a limitation with your GPU). Disabled all image processing by built in UHD630 GPU and fine tune the LG TV settings and things look great. Watching TV content now via providers website and it is beautiful.

This will get you 4K Resolution--Just Plug and Play!!!!!
I tried several "so-called" 4K and 8K Displayport to HDMI cables and adapters. NONE worked until I found this one. No need to update graphics card or update drivers!!! As soon as I plugged it in, I was able to adjust my monitor display settings to 3840 X 2160. Nice job StarTech!!!!
