Q: Does this really help prevent dogs from slipping on hardwood or laminate floors?

Mmm, that might hard to determine. I have wood floors, and my dogs still 'scooby doo' it tearing after each other. When they're calm and just walking, there is no slipping, but I'm sure that could be said whether you use the balm or not :) I like the balm, my dogs like the balm. (I use it on my own feet and misquito bites, rashes etc. too)

Q: Just received mine and it is really solid/hard to get out of the container. is this the correct consistency or did it freeze during shipping?

Yes, it is supposed to be solid as it protects against melting. Rub your fingers on it while lightly pressing to warm it up and it will become softer for application. It will be easier to use after the first couple of applications.

Q: My dog gets walks every day and is an active pup. Is this good for healing just rough paws?

This softens the paws and has helped my dog wear down and remove a corn that he had between his toes. It helps both my dogs because they are older (ages 12 and 9) so that their paws tend to be rougher. and since they live here in Minnesota, the winter can make their paws even rougher and more painful to walk on. This product adds to a dog's comfort level. It is not an antibiotic.
