Mitutoyo293-344-30 Digimatic Micrometer, Range: 0 -1"/0-25.4 mm, IP65

Definitely a real Mitutoyo mic.I enjoy the ratcheting drum with this verson. Deadly accurate out of the box, which comes with all the Mitutoyo standard paperwork and testing documents.My mic tested perfect, well within their tolerances and I cant find anything to fault this mic on.Beside maybe the weight, it is a heavy little unit, which I dont mind. The area with the buttons is large and can get in the way if you are measuring close to a lathe chuck sometimes. But if you got to be so accurate to warrant the use of this device, youll be careful.Bonus: The amount of money spent on this mic, knowing damn well my cheapo no-name mics i bought used from a freakin millwright are just as accurate, leads me to be prideful, when I show it off at work.

The quality, accuracy, and repeatability is wonderful but the biggest difference I noticed right away was how smooth and what little effort the thimble took to adjust. The IP65 is great to have, the display is easy to read, it uses the same battery as all the other Mitotoyo instruments I have so you don't have to stock lots of sizes and you can always borrow one. None of their products burn through batteries even when "off" for years at a time so they last a very long time. There are a couple of more expensive models that offer more precision or full travel with one rotation but that may be nice to have but this will more than serve my needs. My only real complaint is that they have so many different models with tiny differences that it makes it easy to get the wrong one or pick out which is right for you.

Bought this for work to replace my damaged one. This one I think is an upgraded version. It calibrates perfectly and works great. Will be in my toolbox for many years. It also has the best price over the same model sold by the industrial suppliers.
