Whether you want to be able to put together experimental circuits to try something out, develop a new device, or just start learning about electronics, this kit provides a surprisingly wide range of components (235 pieces!) at a very low price!Basically, it's a "breadboard"--a rectangular base with 400 holes (connection tie points) into which you can plug an included power supply module, pre-stripped connection wires (of various colors), and numerous resistors, capacitors, transistors, diodes, multicolored LEDs, switches, and various other parts (all included--but you can also supply additional parts of your own, if you wish) to construct circuits you want to try out or develop. There's so much in this kit that after you've emptied the box to look through all the parts it contains, you may have a bit of a struggle to get everything back into the box (but it can be done!).The breadboard itself is small--only 2.125" x 3.25"--but that's big enough to build up even fairly complex circuits. There is no printed documentation with the kit, except that a large flap on the inside of the box pictures (and names) each different component. Also, a tiny picture on the back of the box the breadboard comes in shows how rows of tie points are connected together (very helpful in learning how to make use of the board!). Importantly, much more detailed documentation is available on the manufacturer's website (specified on the box lid), and reading about it online will provide highly useful information.I found the kit to be a great bargain (especially after reading the online documentation!), and I have no complaints about the quality of the components provided. In particular, I was pleasantly surprised at how firmly the breadboard tie points gripped the wires and component leads that are inserted into them. Use of this kit will save me a lot of time in putting together circuits for testing and development.

This more than doubles most of the components you get with the Mega2560 kit. You get more LED's, even RGB LEDs. More resistors and capacitors, buttons, transistors and even some chips. This is great to either expand your kit or replace some of the missing parts. One of the things you dont get a spare of is the Tilt Ball Switch. One of my only gripes, and that includes a gripe with the original Mega 2560 kit is that certain electric components like the resistors and diodes have very thin leads. And once they start getting quite bent, they become almost impossible to insert into the breadboard. Also the potentiometers and buttons have such short leads that many times they wont even make contact with the metal parts inside the breadboard. I had to solder on some thicker wires and use that to insert into the breadboards.Besides this I think its a great value for the money.

This comes with a pretty good starter kit. Bread board is high quality. YOU HAVE ENOUGH JUMPER CABLES, though you should use solid core wire instead because it's better to see on a bread board. The r3 board works perfectly and have had no issues with the arduino IDE.

Exactly what I needed

Just got this today and compared to the arguing starter kit that I gave 3 stars, this gets 5 from me.It’s the simple things like: organized separated bags for everything.Like the resistors being LABELED so you don’t have to spend time looking up, trying to decipher “is that a red stripe… or brown?!?” Can be a the difference between a 220 ohm resistor and a 10000 ohm resistor.My arduino starter kit lacked diodes which was needed for project 9.. so, begrudgingly ordered this.. the value is incredible really. All the things include for under $12?!!? Two thumbs up!

Great, this work great with my breadboards and to sample the project before the final build.
