why it should be grounded? Should every room be grounded? if there is dirty electricity near around my house, what should I do?

It depends on the effect you are looking for. I also feel that buying an electrical field and an RFI meter before starting your project is absolutely necessary. You are dealing with something that you can't see, hear or feel. Some people state they can feel electrical fields and RFI (EHS), but I think a meter better allows you to evaluate the situation as your project progresses. If your primary objective is to block RFI you can get excellent results without grounding the coating. I have also seen fairly good results with electrical fields without grounding. With RFI you are basically creating a barrier or shield as the name states. This shield is not dependent on a path to ground. There is concern that if the coating were energized by a wire from your house wiring it could be dangerous. If you touched the wall where the coating is exposed, while grounded you would be shocked. The coating is very conductive and shows fairly low resistance when checked with a ohm meter. Using an electrical field meter prior to coating an area should allow you to determine if inductive coupling will be a problem. Grounding the coating in the event that this happens provides a path to ground and drains the resulting voltage. Taking readings before, during and after will allow you to decide whether this is an issue. Your concern with the ground used by your home is valid as it too could energize the coating with stray currents or dirty electricity. The best way to ground the coating is to connect it to a clean ground independent of the house wiring. This is not as easy as it sounds as checking the ground for dirty stray currents is fairly complex. It is well known that the utility companies use the earth as a current carrying conductor. It is also known that wiring mistakes can worsen the problem. Look up UNDERSTANDING GROUND CURRENTS for a good read. So the jury's still out on grounding your coating. For electrical fields you will be better served by proper wiring methods to reduce or minimize ELF's. Twisted conductors, Shielded conductors, on demand breakers, proper routing of wiring to avoid sleeping areas and areas that you spend a lot of time in. As far as RFI is concerned this stuff works really well but keep in mind it's primarily reflective so you will be creating in a sense a box of mirrors. This is where the meter is important. Leakage is a bit of a challenge, but I can attest to having achieved very high levels of attenuation with this coating in addition to the window treatments mentioned. I hate that we have to go through this, it's such an inconvenience not to mention the cost. By the time you have a room painted with two and in some places three coats, then the primer to cover the black, then the top coat you have painted the room nearly six times! In the end I feel it was worth it and will add shielding material whenever the opportunity presents itself. Other materials are the Radiant barriers, foil bubble insulation, foil backed building materials, sheet metals, aluminum insect screening, shielding fabrics.Good luck with your project!

Does this product help with blocking 60hz EMF coming from an electrical transformer?

Yes it should. you can put the paint outdoors and or indoors. how close is the transformer? I have one of my rooms done and it blocks out everything smart meters and 5 G wireless and I am close to a couple cell towers I hope this helps.

Is there much off gassing from the acrylic? Does it dry fast?

No it doesn't smell much at all really. You must wait the recommended drying time on the instructions between coats otherwise you will be wasting your money on them because they will meld together and not provide as much protection.

I share a wall with another condo and we get their Wifi signals. Can I use this paint on my side of the wall to shield my kids' beds?

The WiFi signal will transmit through all (4) walls as well as the floor/ceiling.....if you were able to paint every wall with your condo that abuts the neighbor, I think you would be able to mitigate much of the signal. If you want to seal the room, I'd remove the flooring, paint the walls, ceiling and sub-floor, then re-install the flooring. Y-Shield is black, so assume the walls will require 2-3 coats of paint to get back to the original color.....I hope this helps.

YSHIELD has a great product, its not cheap but is very effective at attenuating RFI. RFI is as issue almost everywhere you live in the city as there are masts and WiFi everywhere you turn. Our home is within 600' of one tower, 2 city blocks of another and three city blocks from a third. This almost seems to be the norm anymore. Then there's our neighbors WiFi which comes in very strong when using my EMFields AM-10. Plan on double priming the yshield before painting as black is a bit of a challange to cover with lighter colors such as white. Two coats does improve attenuation and paying attention to areas that may allow the RFI to leak in is important.

Got this for my parents as my mam suffers with head aches & fuzzy head because of EMF's coming into her apartment from neighbours. She doesnt have wifi in her home so wants to keep it out. I have a monitor that measures emf's with sound & before applying the paint it was high, after painting with this paint it was silent. My mams headaches have subsided so we are very happy & would highly recommend this paint.

This stuff is pretty awful. It wipes off super easily and barely makes a dent in actually reducing any LTE or 3G signal. It was a waste of time and money.

So, I can confirm that this does in fact block EMF. Whether or not you believe all the claims about the dangers of EMF radiation is an entirely different matter. For me, I bought a cheap, but effective, meter to measure the EMF around the walls of our bedrooms. I found that the worst wall was where may daughter's bed sits. While I'm not sure about all of the dangers, I do believe through lots of reading, that it does/can at least negatively affect sleep. This, along with all the other claims of danger, was enough for me to try something. After applying 2 coats of this product to that wall only, it reduced the readings on my meter by about 70% and put us safely under the "danger level." I feel much better now, so it was worth the price in my case. Again, research for yourself, but I can confirm the changes on my meter after application. This stuff works as stated.
