Here's an excerpt of a relevant answer from the manufacturer to another query here that may help (note, it indicates this is the mycelium, not the worm carcass or the fruiting body of the fungus): "...Ours is cultivated on organic brown rice and is derived from the mycelium (roots) rather than the fruiting body (mushroom-like upper portion). see less By Patti Manufacturer on December 26, 2018" And, if you look at the picture of the bottle label you'll see it says "(Cordyceps sinensis) (Mycelium)".

It is manufactured in the USA. NOW only has factories in the US. Having said that they do buy raw materials from all over the world, but GMP practices and FDA rules require them to test every incoming batch of raw materials for pathogens, heavy metals, and pollutants like pesticides and herbicides.

Q: Made in and grown in China ?

Much of medical mushroom research was conducted in ancient China and still today. U.S. research has been limited. FDA won’t do research as they consider this a food and not a supplement. Suuure FDA. Is it because big pharma couldn’t justify charging hundreds and thousands of dollars for something that comes from the earth? Check out Paul Stamets. You’ll thank me.
