Really enjoyed this series. Bought as had seen good reviews on book sites, but wary of buying whole series. Glad I did! Different setting for a fantasy with the Roman background and structures. Different races to take into account. Would totally recommend to any fantasy fan. Good character building and suitable likeable or detestable. Nice world building and description. Not flowery or prentiously wordy. Easy to read and hard to put down.

I love these books and so does my wife. So put son is called octavian. If you like fantasy read these books. There is so much to like.

This is my second set of this series. I now have keep copies and lend copies. I have yet to meet another author in Jim Butcher’s league! Just amazing!!!

A great series of books from a great author!

Every book in this series is a Gem, a coming of age story with lots of great characters and a villian you actually feel sorry for in the end. I bought the Audios of the series as well, so now inbetween the release of a series I'm following I can now a take a run thru the Audio. Thanks Jim

Codex Alera is my favorite series of books. This is my second set because I have read the first set so many times. My rating for the books is actually 5+++, I just gave the four stars because I wanted the old covers and this set has different covers.

I ordered these books to replace one's I wore out while reading. These books are useless to try to read. The print on each page goes all the way down into the core of the book and you have to bend the pages out to actually read each page. This will cause the books to wear out twice as fast.
