Sauder Office Port Executive Desk, Dark Alder Finish

Okay, here we go... this was delivered FedEx freight on a pallet in two giant pieces. Unboxes the massive heavy pieces. Initial shock over, time to assemble. Really if you can follow directions and identify pieces, it isn't bad at all, it just is elaborate and there's a lot of pieces. This is definitely like the laminate particleboard type of office furniture you would have at work, not like wood or light-weight. It is a heavy desk. The handles are kind of crappy cheap plastic and I have considered ordering metal ones to replace them but they look good. Overall, if you are wanting a real office type of desk for home (or at your work) this desk is really good. Fingerprints are annoying but it's fine.

This was difficult to put together. The drawers do not line up well either. This does look nice, not the best quality.

A step above the usual particle board furniture. Well designed and made. Heavy, which was a concern for me as I built it into an rv. One drawer doesn't slide smoothly but the other 5 work great. Nice looking.

Great value for the money. The color is beautiful and the size is perfect for a studet who also works from home.

The main desktop is completely broken when the package is opened

Looks good, but the quality is lacking. Once the desk is put together don't move it or it will fall apart.

So, after having this desk and using it as my main office desk daily for 6 1/2 years, I am very happy to say that I am more than delighted with my choice. The desk looks and is very (and I do mean very) solid. It even went through a move - and you know how rough movers can be with furniture. It survived without even a scratch..The only issue I've had is the pull-out keyboard drawer started to wear some. So, after 6 years, I emailed the manufacturer, Sauder, and they sent me a new drawer without hesitation. Talk about service!This desk is good looking - much more so in person - solid, an excellent price and holds a lot. I recommend it highly to anyone interested.

This is a very heavy desk that is quality made. Having helped put one together, I can say it does not exude cheapness and can be purchased at a very reasonable price if you shop around.We had some of the file cabinet hangers missing and customer service handled it very efficiently and professionally. We got the parts in a few days by mail.While the instructions are detailed and took a few days to complete, the good news is that there were hardly any errors in instruction (a couple of minor points) or vagueness.Having checked out other manufacturers desk in the same price range, they came across as comparatively cheap compressed wood products.I don't know if this will survive a disassembly, but it sure looks and feels sturdy in the spot it has been placed.
