Give it a shot!! Perfect product at an even better price.
I honestly am shocked at all of these negative reviews, as it was absolutely perfect for one record and you cannot beat the price. I'm wondering if there wasn't a defective batch out there that the other reviewers received, as you can see most of the one-star reviews are years old. The only reason I disregarded the low reviews is because I've used 5 various Umbra float frames for photo projects and was happy with the results, so figured it was worth the shot, especially given the price. The frame is sturdy and well made, and when complete, the project looks professionally framed. It does take time to put together if you don't want fingerprints and dust within the two glass pieces, so you have to take care, clean with microfiber cloths and Windex, but that's par for the course for any frame. The time you invest cleaning and dusting the glass is nothing compared to the hundreds of dollars you'd pay to have this professionally framed. So nice, I ordered it twice for another project! (Please note for the photo that the diagonal line is just glare, not a scratch, and I haven't hung it yet.)

not for the record
Now that we are losing the magic of LP cover art to the digital age, what better way to preserve those memories and adorn a wall or two with your favourite LPs of years gone by.Unfortunately the Umbra record frame is most definitely not the way to do it.Given that record covers are all a standard size, Umbra still just present two oversize panes of glass. No card mount to frame it and so most importantly no guide to centre your album. Stick in a cover with record inside and it still slips around. You'll have to resort to using a piece of card to bolster the space with sticky stuff on to hold the cover in place, risking spoiling your precious mint copy. The image you see here looks as if it has a card mount. Don't be fooled, it doesn't.You'll also notice the bendy clips holding the glass, when it's on the wall.As for the frame surround - a flimsy piece of hollow black plastic. For the money, or any money for this specific purpose, it's a shocker. And don't even begin to think about mounting your actual vinyl record in this thing - as some may wish to do with a collectable label or picture disc, and as Umbra visualise it.This is a blatantly cheap and shabby design that is entirely unfit for its purpose. If you care about your records and want to proudly display them, avoid this product and look elsewhere.
