It's light weight and fit's on my lap when sitting anywhere with my legs propped up or sitting down, inside or out on the patio.

This is a very great product, I bought this for my son and he loved it for school learning. This is a great item at a great price. My son uses this for school learning everyday. This product is worth the price.

Let me say up-front that I accept the blame for selecting the wrong product; I thought this stand would complement an iPad 12.9 — but it didn’t.That said, I’ve previously purchased other tablet stands, but this one was not intended for tablet use because other than vertical height adjustment, there are no other adjustments with the stand, such as viewing angle or rotate. In fact, this stand is more like an accessory for a book on a platform, or a lecturer at a podium, than anything else.Now for the bad news: once assembled, the baseplate of the unit was quite wobbly against the center post. A “gap” between the center post and the baseplate simply could not be eliminated, no matter how many times I tried my hand at re-assembly. And I’m a retired aircraft mechanic.Why such a simple device would not “hold steady” escapes me. For a product with such limited functionality and utility, that in itself is something of a “feat.”I find the stand way overpriced. Therefore I’m comfortable in advising prospective shoppers to pass over this product.

Originally bought it for girlfriend along with wireless mouse and keyboard so she can prompt the laptop up while on her desk. That didn't happen as she found some how utilizing the mouse and keyboard was too cumbersome.But she quickly learned she can put the stand between her legs while working on our lounge sofa. This way she can work much more efficiently as she no longer has to put the laptop on her legs! As you can see in the first picture this is a genius idea! If you have a lounge sofa, this is a must buy product. Will make your quality of life much much easier.

Both desk base and riser base are solid, stable aluminum. Riser is sufficiently perforated to allow plenty of air-flow from your laptop with bottom mounted fans. The aluminum base will also draw heat away from the laptop.The swivel is convenient. The elevation is adjustable, though there is a minimal elevation of about 2-3". You can increase that to about 3-5" above the desk base.You cannot adjust the tilt angle of the riser base.If you're looking for a general elevation stand to use while sitting and trying to use the laptop as normal, this is unlikely to be useful.This type of stand is most useful if you work while standing, or you do sit, but your laptop is merely the coputer power, and you use a separate keyboard and mouse. It's also useful to elevate the laptop, for video meetings, so at least your camera is on-level with your face, rather than people getting that great up-your-nose view from your desktop.
