About the same as what I used as a repair tech
This style of mat is a HUGE help staying organized, especially when repairing devices you haven't seen enough times to commit to memory where all the screws go. It's not strong enough to stop things from moving from a hard impact, but magnetic screws won't roll around on their own. Non-magnetic screws will just need a little help from some scotch tape if you're worried about them running away.Basically just an oversized fridge magnet. (That's not a bad thing, that's all it needs to be.)

Useful for electronics projects
It’s a nice large mat. Adequate magnetism for even small screws. No complaints and good for the price. You might not need something this large though.

Nice Way to Organize the Fiddly Bits
No question, this mat is useful in helping me avoid losing screws and other small parts when servicing laptops. However, the magnet is rather weak; not quite strong enough to prevent a dropped screw from skittering off the table and onto the floor. And the dry erase marker that came with it dried out in a matter of months, despite never having been used. Taking off one star for these shortcomings.

Great addition to any diy'ers tool kit.
I go this to help with the battery replacement on an ageing macbook, it helped tremendously in organizing the tiny screws and where they go, the sharpie pen is nice to label where the screws go. Have also used it on a dryer repair, again labelling each bolt and screw was the key to a successful repair.

Multi-Purpose and Good Quality Mat
The board is large, bright white and has very good magnetic strength. I look forward to using it to repair my cell phone.PJP TIP: I downloaded an image of my cellphone insides, printed it and laid the printout on the board and it still holds screws nuts and paperclips through the layer of paper. This way I can keep everything organized. For great magnetic mats and tools for cell phone repairs visit https://iphonerepairmiamibeach.com. Mats are a little pricey, but worth it. I also liked another buyer's comment about using double-sided tape to mount the stiff backing board that's included with the mat to the black side of the magnetic board to create another dry erase board. Then hang it on the refrigerator.

Minimally Magnetic
This is not quite as magnetic as I expected. I tried a few small screws and they do stick as long as you don't jostle the mat too hard or tip it. A pen spring sticks pretty well. The surface is nice and smooth and it looks well made. The dry erase pen is included. It may be that more magnetic power would create a problem with certain electronics, so I will know more after I use if for a few things.

Screws stay put!
Sturdy magnetic board with dry erase marker makes it so easy to stay organized when I’m taking an iPhone apart. I usually have to tape the little screws down with tape and it’s so time consuming. I love this fast and easy way to mark which step the screws were pulled from. Perfect project mat!

Don't buy this product
As relating to the others who have given this a 1 star rating, this mat has virtually 0 magnetic property. It can barely hold itself up if stuck on a fridge or other metal surface. Small screws and even paper clips barely stay place as is, and if you move the mat at all they go flying around. Let alone being able to tilt the mat as in the promotional photos. The one 5 star rating I read with a photo showed the customer with a mat very similar to the one in the pictures, with the SHOWPIN logo in the bottom. Mine certainly did not come that way. I got one with a generic "magnetic project mat" on it. Full on misleading from pictures to description. Do not buy!
