How long can this product be used?

The Magic Erasers are designed to crumble with use like a pencil eraser. So when it's finished being used it will be completely crumble away.

Is this product any good?

I am addicted to these, I almost can’t imagine life without them! I use them for general cleaning, scrubbing stains from walls/ floors. I’ve even used them to scrub out stains in carpet and Upholstery.

How does it do against sooted walls and ceilings?

Probably well but I've only used it on small areas

Is this abrasive ? Concerned it may dull high gloss finishes such as my fiberglass tub / glass stove top / stainless appliances.

Yes it is made out of melamine foam so it seems soft but is abrasive on glass and some surfaces.
