Maclocks 15 inch Bracket with Wedge Lock for Macbook Pro with Retina Display

Pros: - Does the job and only adds a few millimeters to the height of the MacBook, at the back. - Lightweigth, looks better than a plastic case. - Provided lock seems to be of good quality. - Easy to install. Cons: - This is not a Kensington compatible lock! It will ONLY work with the provided lock. Using another type of lock, for example a number combination lock will not work. - The small extension provided to lock the power cable is a nice touch, but it interferes with the lid when opening it and can damage the corner of the lid. - Expensive for the provided value and given it's not Kensington compatible. Would purchase a Kensington-compatible product instead if I had that choice.

Acabo de recibir e instalar este candado en mi MacBook Pro Retina 15" Mid 2014. El systema parece bueno pero tienes que re-emplazar los tornillos originales de la tapa inferior de tu Mac por los que vienen con el candado, y estos no quedan EXACTAMENTE como los originales lo hacen. Es decir, no entran tan suaves como los originales. NO estaría seguro que si decido desinstalar el candado los tornillos originales entraran tan suaves como antes. Pero no lo he intentado ni lo haré si no es necesario. I just received and installed this lock into my MacBook Pro Retina 15" Mid 2014. The system seems good but you have to replace the original screws from the under cover of your Mac by the ones that come with the lock, and this ones do not fit EXACTLY as the original ones do it. This is, they do not enter so smooth as the original ones. I'd not sure that If I decide to uninstall the lock the original screws would enter as smooth as before. But I haven't tried and I won't do if not needed.

The item arrived in OEM packaging. It's aluminum, but it is stamped with "Noble Locks". Installation was a piece of cake. Having replaced the hard drive and battery in an older Mac, the rule of thumb is to position the screwdriver carefully, apply pressure, and turn the screw gently. The enclosed star screwdriver is the right tool and the screws are the right length. If the screw sticks... stop immediately and get to an Apple store. The screws strip easily and once they are stripped it really is a trial to remove them. The lock works and doesn't stick. One less star because I can't use a cover to protect the bottom of the Macbook Pro. Overall, an attractive, non-obtrusive, still fits in my Tumi laptop bag, and it doesn't add any significant weight or get in the way. I'll watch the screws to see if they work loose, but right now, I'm pretty satisfied.

E' l'unico sistema che consente di avere il laptop legato con cavo di sicurezza. Facile da installare, arriva con il kit completo (cacciavite e viti).

Este producto es la única alternativa cómoda para asegurar tu Macbook Pro Retina 15". Lo bueno es que es ligero, no molesta mucho una vez que lo montas, puedes guardar el portátil en tu mochila sin problemas, y te permite tomar el cafe con cierta seguridad de que no te van a quitar un equipo de 2000 euros... al menos no como hurto. El problema es que el conector/enganche que instalas al portátil no es Kensington, tienes que usar obligatoriamente el cable que acompaña al producto, que encima es con llave (no por código), y parece algo endeble. Hubiese sido ideal si el conector fuese Kensington.
